Words are just words and grown adults are responsible for their own actions.
You hear what you want to hear.

What are you trying to say?

"Lets fight" does not equal "Everybody come to the capitol right now and riot and storm into government property."

I get people don't like him, he's a jerk. But he didn't commit insurrection, he just has crazy followers.

depends on what you consider as inciting violence. from his own speech:

"I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard."

I disagree. This comment removes the power that words have. Without words, we don’t have leaders. Leaders have influence. Do you think the riot would have happened independent of Trump? Also, his influence could have quelled the madness. He made no effort to do so. There’s responsibility there.

He also told them that if they didn’t fight they’d lose their country. Let’s be real about what happened.

I just learned that the cop reportedly killed by a protester with a fire extinguisher was fake news...

"Speculation over Officer Sicknick's death was the source of widespread disinformation after the New York Times reported erroneously that protesters had bludgeoned him with a fire extinguisher - a claim the newspaper later retracted."

Due to privacy laws, Dr Diaz is unable to say whether the officer had any pre-existing medical conditions. However, he did acknowledge the policeman's role in the events, telling the Washington Post: "All that transpired played a role in his condition."

The point is that he wasn't murdered by protesters, as was widely reported.

Not saying it wasn't an unfortunate loss. The point is the misrepresentation of the protesters actions.

If you are looking for a tragedy, perhaps you should reflect on the level of outrage over the unarmed woman that was shot by a cop during the protests. Her life apparently wasn't Black enough to matter.

She was part of a group of people attempting to break down a barricaded door to carry out threats on the congress of the United States. Do you get that? Like do you actually get that and do you actually understand how you sound? Her life wasn’t black enough? Man, that’s not ok to say. Do better. And at least that woman was warned that they were going to shoot her. She refused to comply. Isn’t that what your side says about all the unarmed black kids who are killed in this country by police?

I believe they deserve to have their actions reported accurately and fairly by the news media.

I find it disturbing that you are defending misinformation.

Yes, she was confronted by cops and refused to comply- - just like those for whom the BLM protests/demonstrations are trying to bring attention to.

If you really want to play the 'your side' game- - 'my side' says that all lives should matter. 'Your side' seems to want to pick and choose the lives that matter.

2 months ago - Sunday 5/23/21 - 6:50:20 PM EST (GMT-5)
Weak! To have their actions reported accurately? But they were just like tourists, right? Just silliness. And the fact of the matter isn’t that all live don’t matter, or that ONLY Black Lives Matter. But black kids are being killed for no reason and the movement was started to say that yes, in fact, Black lives do actually matter, so stop bricking off their deaths. Tour “side” is just a bunch of snowflake whiners who need to feel like their the kings of the country or they get super sad and scared.
2 months ago - Sunday 5/23/21 - 8:15:45 PM EST (GMT-5)
Again with the 'your side' game.

Not sure what you are going on about with your 'but they were just like tourists' comment. There's a pretty wide range between 'murderers' and 'tourists'.

Maybe instead of worrying about what 'my side' says, maybe you should start listening to what *I* am saying. You accuse 'my side' of being a bunch of sad, scared snowflakes, but you can't even accept the fact that the protesters didn't murder the cop by hitting him with a fire extinguisher.

As far as the BLM thing goes, people of all races are killed by cops. All lives should matter. I would expect the same level of outrage every time an unarmed person is killed by a cops rather than worrying about their race before deciding to be outraged or not.

Cant accept it? Cant accept that they didn’t murder someone? I can accept that the cause of his death wasn’t bludgeoning. His doctor still linked his death to the events. I also saw WITH MY OWN EYES AS DID YOU protesters bearing cops with the American flag.

All lives do matter. BLM doesn’t say that all lives don’t matter. It says that Black Lives DO Matter, and that they matter just as much as anyone else’s. With that, can you say that Black Lives Matter?

Yes, you don't seem to be able to accept it. You are determined to frame his death as murder at the hands of protesters. This is no different than a hypothetical situation of a cop having a fatal heart attack while chasing down a bank robber. Yes, the heart attack is linked to the events, but it isn't fair to say that the death was an expected outcome.

I can say that Black lives matter, as do the lives of Whites, Hispanics, Asians, Females, Males, Gender Fluid people, Gender neutral people, and any other lives you can think of.

Cops shouldn't be killing unarmed people.

2 months ago - Sunday 5/23/21 - 11:51:40 PM EST (GMT-5)
All lives matter was started as a counter to the BLM movement and the intent was to deflect from the issues that BLM was representing.
Worked like a charm.

Leftists will continue to have their hearts in the right place and be dogpoo at public relations.
Rightists are the exact opposite.
2 months ago - Monday 5/24/21 - 11:04:39 AM EST (GMT-5)
I disagree that the intent was how you see it. Not necessarily to deflect, but rather as a way to broaden the issue by acknowledging that the issue of cops shooting unarmed people goes beyond Black victims. The lack of concern for non-Black victims of police brutality indicates that maybe the focus on Black lives is the distraction.

I think that efforts to label cops as 'a bunch of racists looking to kill Black people' is distracting from the real issue that some cops are using lethal force inappropriately and without penalty.
