Absolutely.
9 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Sunday 1/29/12 - 4:44:24 PM EST (GMT-5)
Yes, but I also believe women should be drafted for wars and be allowed to play any sport that men play (with men) on a professional level.

Sports like baseball don't innately give an ultimate advantage to the taller or larger, and some positions like shortstop and 2nd base would probably work better for women.
9 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Sunday 1/29/12 - 4:44:45 PM EST (GMT-5)
I think so. Certainly by that definition.

9 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Sunday 1/29/12 - 9:17:08 PM EST (GMT-5)
By your definition, I guess I would be, but the whole thing that girls can make sexist jokes towards men, or expect men to do something that a woman "normally" would not do, makes me... sexist towards women in an feminist view?

Bitch, I don't want to think about that. make me a sandwich.
9 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Sunday 1/29/12 - 9:28:02 PM EST (GMT-5)
I'ma feminist. I believe in equality of opportunity. I don't do positive discrimination.

I don't think men OR women should be drafted. If you can't get enough volunteers, you probably shouldn't be fighting that war.
9 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Sunday 1/29/12 - 11:27:58 PM EST (GMT-5)
I don't think they should be drafted, but in theory, if we have to have a draft, both men and women should be drafted.
9 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Monday 1/30/12 - 1:27:19 AM EST (GMT-5)
Well, I'd agree with that.
9 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Monday 1/30/12 - 1:42:56 AM EST (GMT-5)
As in the way it's here by law or the way it should?

I agree that women should have the same crappy chances for an education as men does, same pay for same work etc..

What i do not agree to is how it actually is(other than the pay thingie) seeing as the law requires you to hire a woman even if the man is better qualified for the job. and make it easier for them to get into universities and so on..

Give them the same crap and the benefits as we men have, military service and all that mandatory stuff.

More than the person asking the question is, definitely.

Once in college this question was asked of a class, the rhetorical answer being, "Yes." This one dude spoke up to dissent, though, saying he thought it gave women special privileges, etc, etc. I think when there is an imbalance of power, it's kind of skirting the issue to claim you're for equality for everyone. You focus resources, attention, etc, where it is needed. If Black people aren't achieving at the same level, you have affirmative action. If New Orleans has an earthquake, they get disaster relief. If gay people are being bullied, you focus on their suffering. Women are in the same boat.

However, this guy happens to be someone who lives what he says to the letter. I still know him, and while we disagree on some things, I've never not trusted that what he said was what he meant, and I've never seen him act hypocritically.

yeah you see this a lot with white liberals and it's always annoyed me
it's basically saying "I want equality for everyone...but I don't want to inconvenience anyone important to get it"

I see it more among conservatives, like Bachmann or dacash saying gay people had the same marriage rights as everyone... to marry someone of the opposite gender, or people who see affirmative action as quotas *and* nothing more. Sometimes I think it masks prejudices, but sometimes I just think it's insensitive, stubborn ignorance.

Yes, I am.
Yes. Yes. Yes.

Well, feminists are really diverse...I have some views that might even make other feminists yell at me and say I'm not a feminist...but I think I am...and...of course...there may be some objection...but...OH WELL. I say I am a feminist. So, there.

You say you are... how about providing a single reason beyond that? I mean, predicting that some would object to your calling yourself a feminist, why not go ahead and mount some semblance of a defense?

I gave my answer to the question. It answered the question. I don't have to prove anything here and I don't want to prove anything here right now. Also, I don't have to.

No matter what I said or mentioned.
9 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Monday 1/30/12 - 10:36:43 AM EST (GMT-5)
It wasn't a challenge. Sorry you're so paranoid and insecure as to give a real answer.

More like...
I'm totally lazy and don't care to prove my feminism on YT.
