no way
15 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Thursday 8/9/07 - 6:12:07 PM EST (GMT-5)
I think I would.. Then again, I'm not sure. It could be damaging to him to be denied girl's clothing, but it could also be equally damaging to let him wear them..

I think I would just give him the clothing.

15 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Thursday 8/9/07 - 6:12:32 PM EST (GMT-5)
No, I wouldn't. I'd buy him little boy clothes. Most little boys go through that as a phase anyway.
15 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Thursday 8/9/07 - 6:36:37 PM EST (GMT-5)
Uhh, no.
15 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Thursday 8/9/07 - 6:38:22 PM EST (GMT-5)
I would buy him girls tee shirts or whatever if he liked the design better, I think I wouldn't want him to wear a skirt though.
15 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Thursday 8/9/07 - 6:42:23 PM EST (GMT-5)
No, I'd buy him something manly. Like a large steak instead.
15 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Thursday 8/9/07 - 6:45:15 PM EST (GMT-5)
You'd want him to wear a steak?
15 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Thursday 8/9/07 - 7:18:54 PM EST (GMT-5)
Depends on the article of clothing. Maybe a girl's shirt or something, but I don't think a skirt or dress. I don't think I'd buy him something that looked incredibly girly.
15 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Thursday 8/9/07 - 7:20:56 PM EST (GMT-5)
No, I would buy him a phsychiatrist.:/
15 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Thursday 8/9/07 - 7:26:59 PM EST (GMT-5)
Yes I probably would, depending on age.

But I would also explain why society doesn't like to see boys dressed as girls, and that other kids would more than likely make fun or see him as a target.

To me, there's absolutely nothing wrong with cross dressing. In the way that some kids know that they are gay at a very early age, I think that it's to do with a child exerting their personality/lifestyle choices.

Perhaps I'd ask a professional to assess my kid's behaviour, in terms of seeing whether it was a phase, or something they were very serious about, and take it from there.

TBH, his peers making fun is trivial compared to supressing/damaging a child's character, or making him ashamed of what he is, to me.

15 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Thursday 8/9/07 - 7:28:43 PM EST (GMT-5)
No, I don't think I would let my son do that, no matter how open minded I was.
15 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Thursday 8/9/07 - 7:33:53 PM EST (GMT-5)
I'm going to make my son dress like that, regardless.
15 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Thursday 8/9/07 - 7:35:39 PM EST (GMT-5)
Not like skirts or dresses.
15 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Friday 8/10/07 - 10:27:24 AM EST (GMT-5)
I might buy him a few articles of clothing, but limit where and when he could where them.
15 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Saturday 8/11/07 - 10:41:16 PM EST (GMT-5)
I'd begin with buying him girly shirts. If it wasn't a phase- on to the dresses!
15 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Saturday 8/11/07 - 10:44:28 PM EST (GMT-5)
Lol, over 50% of the girls said yes, but 100% of the guys said no
15 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Saturday 8/11/07 - 11:10:23 PM EST (GMT-5)
No way, that's just plain weird.
15 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Saturday 8/11/07 - 11:10:53 PM EST (GMT-5)
No. He can wear boys clothes,
15 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Sunday 8/12/07 - 12:00:12 AM EST (GMT-5)
I would take my son to a psychologist and then decide accordingly.
15 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Sunday 8/12/07 - 12:00:15 AM EST (GMT-5)
I would buy them, but he'd only be allowed to wear them in the house.
15 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Sunday 8/12/07 - 12:04:31 AM EST (GMT-5)
Yes, but if he were really young, I don't think I'd let him wear the clothes out of the house.
15 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Sunday 8/12/07 - 12:07:17 AM EST (GMT-5)
Until I feel he can make a clear choice, he wears what I pick. If he was 15, I'd let him but be scared of others reactions. 3, no. 7, no. 10, maybe. 12, maybe.
15 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Sunday 8/12/07 - 12:42:54 PM EST (GMT-5)
I'm predicting that the answers would be much different if the question were reversed (girls wearing boys' clothes.)
15 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Sunday 8/12/07 - 12:46:38 PM EST (GMT-5)
Well, if I had a daughter wanting to wear boy clothes, I'd let her do it. So I suppose I might also let a son wear girl clothes. If he were to get beat up or made fun of then he'd probably change his mind. Anyway, I don't see much wrong with it except the way other people would react. And I would not want to teach my child to live his life based upon what everyone else thinks of it.
