Give it time. Eventually, it will be a 20 page argument.

I reject that loosely thrown together theory on the fact that the person who created the theory laid out ground work on how evolution would be disproven; things like the fossil record, and irreducible complexity. This theory will be discarded by the scientific community as a whole in the next 25 years, just as it has been by a large portion of the scientific community already. True scientists admit that there is "absolutely, positively no evidence that supports macro-evolution." This is true by the way. There is no evidence that supports evolution in the least bit.

Go Creationism!

I reject it. I know I'm not descended from apes.

A theory is not the same as a fact...but anyways, I reject that THEORY.

i love how so many people say things like "evolution doesn't say we are descended from apes, it says we have a common ancestor" what do you suppose that common ancestor was?
14 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Thursday 10/11/07 - 11:40:03 PM EST (GMT-5)
^^^ The common ancestor was something that was neither a human nor an ape.

In fact, the common ancestor includes small four footed mammels, a fish-like creature, and single celled organisms.

I don't fully believe in either 'Creationsim' or The Theory of Evolution'. I believe modern man was 'created' by the Anunnaki through genetic engineering.

maybe it wasn't a modern ape, like a gorilla or a chimpanzee, but it was a primate...and the term ape generally refers to all primates. in fact, according to wikipedia, humans ARE apes:

Apes are the members of the Hominoidea superfamily of primates, which includes humans. Under the current classification system there are two families of hominoids:

* the family Hylobatidae consists of 4 genera and 13 species of gibbons, including the Lar Gibbon and the Siamang, collectively known as the "lesser apes"
* the family Hominidae consisting of orangutans, gorillas, chimpanzees, and humans,[1][2] collectively known as the "great apes".

have you read the "Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life" or "Nothing in this book is true, but it's Exactly How Things Are"? it's pretty crazy sh*t, I wouldn't go so far as to say that I actually believe it, but they present some very interesting claims.

I think I've heard of those books, who are they by?
O_O

Anyway.

I believe in alien intervention in the case of this planet only.

Generally why I object to the term "evolved from apes", is that it doesn't make much sense unless its referring to modern apes in this context. Humans are apes themselves, so it does make the question rather redundant otherwise.

There has in fact been debate as to whether to merge the homo genus with the pan genus should be merged anyways.

the first is by a guy named Drunvalo Melchizedek and the other is by Bob Frissell.

I somewhat believe in the theory of evolution, but I definitely do not believe people used to be apes. If that was true, why are there still apes? Makes no sense.
14 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Friday 10/12/07 - 11:42:35 PM EST (GMT-5)
FD said it already, but I like to repeat so....
It is gh3y to say we evolved from them and are them, so we evolved from ourselves.

When you have questions so controversial it is best to be specific.

It was explained on the first page. I don't see how anyone could understand the theory and think it doesn't make sense.

The main reason for people to reject the theory of evolution despite the evidence found so far is - imho - that it'd be unbearable for them not to be 'the crown of creation'.
14 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Thursday 11/15/07 - 11:07:48 PM EST (GMT-5)
Okay firstly it's not that we 'descended' from Apes, morons, its that we have the same ancestors, so yeah I believe that. Use your brain, if we evolved from Apes there wouldn't be any apes left.

Strangely enough I believe that our DNA was seeded by some ALIENS FROM OUTERSPACE!!!

It's not actually that weird a concept when you think about it. There are advanced extra terrestrial civilizations millions of years ahead of us- with technology and spirituality beyond our understanding. Some different civilizations teamed up and decided to send a little bit of their DNA patterning to the bud of a planet that is our EARTH.
(DNA is like a cosmic computer coding language for life, from what i understand... which is not too much)

It's kind of like Earth is a potluck, everybody brought something and nobody really knew what would happen.

Now we are all in a collective state of isolation from our cosmic heritage, not even believing that it's true or even possible. Kind of sad and kind of exciting at the same time.

14 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Friday 11/16/07 - 1:23:21 AM EST (GMT-5)
I believe it.
I believe scientists havn't got the full story, but damn, it makes more sense than a man and a woman popping onto earth into a beautiful garden.
14 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Friday 11/16/07 - 3:41:02 AM EST (GMT-5)
kitnner, when do you think this happened?

Untrue, as described earlier in this discussion. Speciation does not entail the replacement of the ancestor species with a/the descendent species.

14 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Friday 11/16/07 - 9:11:05 AM EST (GMT-5)
I'm not sure- I havn't done enough research.

Apperently, there were advanced human civilizations on earth hundreds of thousands of years ago... so it must have been at least that long ago. But I would think much longer.

Or it might have been an ongoing process spanning millions of years.

14 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Friday 11/16/07 - 9:26:01 AM EST (GMT-5)
Thousands of years ago, sure. Hundreds of thousands of years ago...not so much. The earliest 'advanced' human civilizations were around 10.000 years ago.

And by advanced, I mean they had agriculture, basic masonry and perhaps bronze working. (not so much bronze working 10.000 years ago either)

14 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Friday 11/16/07 - 12:36:24 PM EST (GMT-5)
I'm going to accept that theory. I like it much better than evolution.
