I'm all for conservation, but this is a step way, way too far.

No! Disposable pads are gross enough, this is just sick!

How do you think women dealt with menstruation before the invention of disposable pads/tampons? It's not all that gross. You just wash them and reuse them... like regular clothes. I still prefer disposable tampons, though, tyvm.

Yes, I shall use those along with my reusable toilet paper.

i have some washable pads. they're just like regular ones except they're cheaper and more comfortable. i'm surprised that people think it's such a big deal. you CAN just throw them in the washing machine you know.. being a f*cking hippie about it is optional.

I don't think I'd like to use them. I wouldn't feel comfortable shoving a bloodied pad into the washing and hanging it on the washing line for all to see

women are such f*cked up creatures, you have to deal with it one way or the othe, what's the differance between tossing it in the trash or tossing it in a hamper? you wash your panties and they are rife with discharge and possibly pad overflow. only a woman would think something so natural is digusting, I'm so glad I have a penis and a brain.

Actually, I might actually be willing to try this. I only use pads for backup, and light days, so doing this would save me a lot of money.

I'd much sooner use a reusable cup thing than a pad. Pads are awful. Pads are diapers. Don't care whether it's reusable or not. Won't do it.
Also, "Menstruation is a literal symbol of our power as women to be able to create life, and as such should not be treated as garbage. By not throwing away all those pads..."
this is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. I'm so sick of the whole "our power as women" thing. blaahhh blah blah. Men have the power to create life too, you know.
And yes, it is garbage. The only thing that is not garbage when creating life is the baby that comes as a result. Everything else is garbage.

Yeah^
Kudos to your wife for saving a couple of dollars by using a stranger's bodily fluid contaminated products against her genitals.
I'm not squicked out by the resuable pad thing, but I don't use pads anyway.

IRL, can we get an update on that or something? You wrote that post 6 years ago. Does your wife realize how disgusting that was yet? Is she still using the same ones? Or did she replace them with more pre-owned pads?
