15 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Wednesday 5/30/07 - 10:10:44 PM EST (GMT-5)
gross
15 yrs ago - Friday 6/15/07 - 8:24:13 PM EST (GMT-5)
That is THE dumbest thing I've heard in a long time.
15 yrs ago - Friday 6/15/07 - 8:25:44 PM EST (GMT-5)
I'm all for conservation, but this is a step way, way too far.
15 yrs ago - Friday 6/15/07 - 8:33:06 PM EST (GMT-5)
No! Disposable pads are gross enough, this is just sick!
15 yrs ago - Saturday 6/16/07 - 1:01:52 AM EST (GMT-5)
How do you think women dealt with menstruation before the invention of disposable pads/tampons?

It's not all that gross. You just wash them and reuse them... like regular clothes.

I still prefer disposable tampons, though, tyvm.

15 yrs ago - Saturday 6/16/07 - 1:43:09 AM EST (GMT-5)
Yes, I shall use those along with my reusable toilet paper.
15 yrs ago - Friday 6/22/07 - 9:44:04 PM EST (GMT-5)
Sounds disgusting.

"mens-panties" is a well know phenomena around here.

I'm not a woman though, sooo...

14 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Thursday 8/23/07 - 8:36:36 AM EST (GMT-5)
i have some washable pads. they're just like regular ones except they're cheaper and more comfortable. i'm surprised that people think it's such a big deal. you CAN just throw them in the washing machine you know.. being a f*cking hippie about it is optional.
14 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Thursday 8/23/07 - 8:49:44 AM EST (GMT-5)
I don't think I'd like to use them.

I wouldn't feel comfortable shoving a bloodied pad into the washing and hanging it on the washing line for all to see

14 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Saturday 9/22/07 - 9:54:08 PM EST (GMT-5)
Er, no, that's kind of gross.
14 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Tuesday 9/25/07 - 3:48:33 PM EST (GMT-5)

14 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Wednesday 10/3/07 - 10:59:58 AM EST (GMT-5)
um...honestly, it looks gross to me...i wouldn't use it..

Oh, I didn't read the story. My wife uses re-usable menstrual products, but not some brand-name, slogany kind. She even bought them used (but cleaned) off e-bay.

That is completely disgusting.

women are such f*cked up creatures, you have to deal with it one way or the othe, what's the differance between tossing it in the trash or tossing it in a hamper? you wash your panties and they are rife with discharge and possibly pad overflow. only a woman would think something so natural is digusting, I'm so glad I have a penis and a brain.
9 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Tuesday 11/20/12 - 11:18:41 PM EST (GMT-5)
Actually, I might actually be willing to try this. I only use pads for backup, and light days, so doing this would save me a lot of money.
9 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Wednesday 11/21/12 - 4:26:22 AM EST (GMT-5)
I'd much sooner use a reusable cup thing than a pad. Pads are awful. Pads are diapers. Don't care whether it's reusable or not. Won't do it.

Also, "Menstruation is a literal symbol of our power as women to be able to create life, and as such should not be treated as garbage. By not throwing away all those pads..."

this is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. I'm so sick of the whole "our power as women" thing. blaahhh blah blah. Men have the power to create life too, you know.

And yes, it is garbage. The only thing that is not garbage when creating life is the baby that comes as a result. Everything else is garbage.
9 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Wednesday 11/21/12 - 8:26:22 AM EST (GMT-5)
Reusable pads. Oh no.

Just no.

What. The. F*ck.

Yeah^
Kudos to your wife for saving a couple of dollars by using a stranger's bodily fluid contaminated products against her genitals.

I'm not squicked out by the resuable pad thing, but I don't use pads anyway.

That just made me queasy reading that about IRL's wife.

Just. ugh.
9 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Tuesday 12/11/12 - 6:37:05 PM EST (GMT-5)
IRL, can we get an update on that or something? You wrote that post 6 years ago. Does your wife realize how disgusting that was yet? Is she still using the same ones? Or did she replace them with more pre-owned pads?
