In person it doesn't take too long to figure most of it out because there's context and body language involved. If it's descriptive, like "the old 'in-out'," then I get it pretty easily, but if it's something obscure and random like "tossing salad" I need some context.

Most of the ones commonly used in my country. But as UL said, context makes it easier to figure out.
