No...why would it be?
17 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Monday 7/12/04 - 9:32:29 AM EST (GMT-5)
Too much of it could be. But I'm inclined to think that there's something wrong with people who have none.

I'd love to think it's not a flaw, but really it is. It's weak.

No, it isn't.

It is a boon.. if your sentiments are reciprocated, but a bane if unrequited.. then it'll be sad.

I think it can be. I am one of the most sentimental people there is, particularly in relation to animals. I tend to anthropomorphise everything, and it does affect the way I do thinigs and view things.

It's not a flaw nor a weakness. Of course you don't need to go overboard with all the sugary sweetness of it, but done properly it's extremely heartwarming and gives people a way to show that they love you.

I tend to be more on the sentimental side than the practical or judging side when it comes to dealing with people and objects.

There are times that too much sentiment drives you emotionally crazy that you forget the consequences and missed opportunities from choosing not to go with your logical decisions.

It's tough to find the right balance between feeling and judging. It's definitely not 50-50 or any other set percentage for every individual. It's continually changing depending on situation and timing. It's a play by ear deal.

You can't fight with someone who is overly sentimental, because they fight with emotion not reason. I've lost too many fights that way.

Oh, and so everyone knows. "Sentimentality - The quality or condition of being excessively or affectedly sentimental."

I would consider it a flaw, mostly because I tend to cry too often, or I at least think so. It makes me appear easily hurt and weak, making others respect me less. Sentimentality can be good, such as when one is with their significant other, but, for instance, breaking down in the middle of school because someone says something horrible to you or you get a bad grade on an important test is just embarrassing and irritating. There is a time and place for sentimentality. I just wish that I would stop being sentimental so often.

Not really, no. In some cases though.
17 yrs ago - Friday 8/27/04 - 6:02:43 PM EST (GMT-5)
at times, it can be the biggest flaw one can have.
16 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Thursday 10/14/04 - 11:12:28 AM EST (GMT-5)
It all depends on taste, if you want to be tough and make everyone think you are, then dont be sentimental, dont cry or laugh, bury your memories deep and forget about them. If you really dont care how others see you, then be as romantic, sentimental, or sappy as you want to be and be happy if thats who you are. Anyways, they say crying makes you live longer.

When it stands in the way of logic it is IMO.
