They should approve stupid ?'s b/c sooner or later they're gonna run out of questions.

Personally, I think it would be better to have fewer questions than many stupid ones...
18 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Friday 10/17/03 - 8:31:56 PM EST (GMT-5)
I don't know, I don't mind stupid ones so much.

Whether or not a question is "stupid" is a matter of opinion and maybe the person who submitted it doesn't think it's stupid, but the mods do. That would be unfair.
18 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Saturday 10/18/03 - 3:25:06 PM EST (GMT-5)
Also, they should have a "you're a dumbass" rejection option.
18 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Saturday 10/18/03 - 3:28:36 PM EST (GMT-5)
There should be clearer options "Too narrow" is a cop out.
18 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Saturday 10/18/03 - 11:16:22 PM EST (GMT-5)
What one may consider a stupid question another may not see a problem with it. Stupid questions vary by individuals.
18 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Saturday 10/18/03 - 11:19:20 PM EST (GMT-5)
It would be used to much.
18 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Sunday 10/19/03 - 12:41:44 AM EST (GMT-5)
They wouldn't need to use it too much on you Joe, like me, they could cane you on the spelling.

Mods hardly ever give a good reason for rejecting questions. The mod I'm up against is a stubborn one, and never explains why my questions are being rejected. I re-submited them at least 20 times and the mod sent me a message telling me to stop wasting my time.

Wow, some mods sure are pissy.

There are some that would never get accepted BECAUSE they're stupid questions. Trust me, you may think it's just an opinion, but they are STUPID questions. And you have to say it's either "too narrow" or "not a question" because you can't say the truth.

no, stupid questions are sometimes the most fun to answer!
18 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Monday 10/20/03 - 2:09:23 PM EST (GMT-5)
ha, that'd be funny.
18 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Monday 10/20/03 - 2:11:32 PM EST (GMT-5)
If that were the case, we'd have nothing to answer here.
18 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Tuesday 10/28/03 - 8:39:38 PM EST (GMT-5)
No I don't! Even if it's stupid, it's the rights of the the questions! They have a right to be asked! All questions UNITE!
18 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Wednesday 11/5/03 - 3:00:00 PM EST (GMT-5)
Let's not add anything else to the already HUGE list of things they don't like...Plus, didn't your teachers ever tell you, "There is no such thing as a stupid question,"?
18 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Sunday 12/28/03 - 5:51:11 PM EST (GMT-5)
No. There are no stupid questions.
18 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Wednesday 2/25/04 - 5:28:31 PM EST (GMT-5)
YES! Oh my god, yes.

And this is certainly a marked change of pace for some people on this thread. Apparently, when yosassy suggests it, it's cool.

18 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Wednesday 2/25/04 - 5:28:57 PM EST (GMT-5)
'stupid question'
18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Sunday 2/29/04 - 12:09:42 AM EST (GMT-5)
No...I think that's way too subjective. Stupid is in the mind of the reader...and I don't know yosassy.
18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Sunday 2/29/04 - 12:32:51 AM EST (GMT-5)
yes please! it will be the only reason i'd use.
18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Sunday 2/29/04 - 12:41:24 AM EST (GMT-5)
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.
18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Wednesday 3/3/04 - 2:57:59 PM EST (GMT-5)
^^ And there's a lot of those.
18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Wednesday 3/3/04 - 3:01:04 PM EST (GMT-5)
No...A lot of times people submit questions that seem superficially stupid, but are purposefully so because the asker is trying to prove a point. I've seen some good discussion spring from "dumb" questions.

Besides, stupid is in the eye of the beholder...A lot of times people post "dumb question" in response to a question that nobody else finds dumb.

"Stupid is in the eye of the beholder." I love that quote.

Of course the 'stupid question' option can, in reality, mean either the question is stupid, or the moderator is stupid for not 'getting' it.
