Not really. Even though the story had changed over time and varies from religion to religion and denomination to denomination, God still tends to have a judicial role while Satan tends to have a prosecutorial role.

To my very limited knowledge of Christian religion, I always took Satan to be the guardian angel Lucifer who was cast out of heaven by God. So it would be two distinct entities.

Nope, God and Satan were close at one time, until it came time to decide how humans should be allowed to express themselves.

God believed that humanity would be too chaotic and destructive if given total free reign, thus he decided to embed them with fear of sin and torment if they behaved a certain way.

Satan believed that we could use our natural gifts to tap into our potential and actually create an even better world where we could be independent yet harmonious.

I find it funny that christians regard greek mythology as myth

and then the fantastical stuff in their own book as fact

when they both read the same way

just like how zeus interacted with all the other gods of olympus
or odin in asgard

and the whole god/lucifer fight is so stupid
it’s like the writers of that part of the bible either forgot god is all powerful
or they didn’t make him all powerful until later on

Dude, I LOVE Christian mythology. It's hard to read up on casually but the Catholics have 100s of saints and the Angel's are pretty well defined.

As for the question? Sure, in an explain like I'm 5 way, good and evil are two different sides to the same coin. But I dont actually think that God and Satan operate in clear lineation like that. And that opinion comes down to something similar to Dissapears, God could wipe out all resistance, but doesnt eliminate Satan, meaning he tolerates it. Good would never tolerate evil. God is either disconnected from their creation or a lie.

The way I understand it, Satan is allowed to operate to test our faith because God is fickle like that. See Job.

after reading the book of job is where I first thought, “why are we worshipping this thing?”
