It's good for you!
Eat all you want.

A little is good for you.

A lot is bad for you.

Just like many things in life.

It's essential, in moderation.

I think that too much salt is something that's worth avoiding even at the cost of not getting any at all for a few days.

in moderation, but most food nowadays has crazy high amounts of sodium in it.

best way to watch your salt is to cook your own food.

Turns out, we don't need to worry about salt.

When I was young, I disliked and avoided salt and had very low blood pressure....always getting slight blackouts when I stood up from lying down.

Now I adore salt and I'm pre-hypertensive.

balance.

As much as I'd like to use the pun 'take it with a grain of salt', I wouldn't pay much attention to the article at all. It's hard to verify a lot of what they're saying because they don't give the references, but they mischaracterised the 6250 subject meta-analysis (as a lot of the press did at the time), so it doesn't bode well. The authors actually argue that their findings are consistent with previous work suggesting a benefit for reducing salt in take, but their sample size wasn't large enough. 6250 might sound like a lot, but when the thing you want to predict is something fairly rare like whether people die in the next 0.5-3 years, it doesn't go very far.

If I remember correctly, the last meta-analysis I saw (last year somewhen) suggested a U-shaped curve with sodium intake and mortality. Moderate intake = good, high or low intake = bad.

Moderate intake = good, high or low intake = bad.

Now doesn't that just seem to make actual sense?

Salt is the most delicious thing of all time. F*ck sugar.
