The Lightning is going to be the vehicle that actually moves the masses to electric vehicles.

I am hoping to get the F150 Lightning... thinking about giving them $100 for a deposit. The Tesla is just a little too bizarre looking for me. I prefer trucks that look like trucks I guess.

What is the pricing like for the F150 Lightning?

I’ve heard that the carbon footprint of driving a used car is less than the carbon emissions required to produce a new vehicle.

They are both stupid ideas.

What's a 10,000 pound trailer going to do to range and battery life?

I wonder if the percentage of truck owners that actually tow 10,000 pound trailers is large enough for it to matter...
1 yr ago, 1 mos ago - Tuesday 5/25/21 - 9:23:08 PM EST (GMT-5)
I rarely tow, but when I do it's a lot less than 10,000 pounds. Nice to have it when you need it but I'm sure it cuts down on range a lot just like it would cut down on gas milage.

That's the thing. It takes 5 minutes to fill up with diesel but hours to recharge. If you want to take your 5th wheel to Yosemite it would add days to the trip.

Electric trucks are fine for people who rarely need a truck and use it as and oversized car 95% of the time but they are a poor choice for anyone who uses a truck as god intended.

Charging technology has gotten better- - AC charging still takes an overnight, but there's a Fast DC charger that is more along the lines of an hour or so.

I'll grant you it's still a lot longer than a fillup at the gas station, but not all that unmanageable.

The trick to it might be to have a gas powered generator in the back charging the batteries as you go...

Neither. I like sedans or SUVs.

Oh, to answer the question. The cyber truck is goofy looking and the flying buttresses make side loading impossible.

Prefer F-150

I’ll stick with my diesels, but if this is my choice, I begrudgingly go with the Ford. I wouldn’t even know where to take a Tesla for service or issues.

It's pretty rare to travel more than 300 miles a day... however for those cases when you do need to go farther than that, it's closer to 30 minutes I think at one of the fast charging stations.

Elon Musk was pretty weird on SNL.

My partner drives a regular Tesla and it takes a little over an hour to charge at the rapid charging stations. It’s a pain in the ass though really. And range anxiety is a real thing

Does he do a lot of longer drives?

A coworker of mine drives a Tesla sedan (not sure what the model is) and he doesn't seem to worry at all- - and the place where we work is not in an area where one really shouldn't let their battery run out...

I think it’s more that his apartment building doesn’t have a charging station. So he has to go to his work which isn’t bad-15 minute walk. But it adds steps to something. And we do do some day trips that require a charge and that’s a peon

He even says during the monologue something like "Did you guys expect me to be just some regular dude?"

I know. I found the Western skit kind of funny.

We worked with SpaceX parts at the company I’m at. I think even their business practices are kind of odd.
