No, because if people don't work, they can lose their sense of self-worth. Also, when you don't occupy people, they get into more trouble. And trouble is not a good thing in a society.

No. It wouldn't work now.
However, I have thought about this more than once. If people could just go back to the days where they farmed their own lands and produced their own foods. Bartering.
But now we have all this technology and our lands are now cement jungles. It would never work out.
I do wish we could go back to single income family life, though. I don't care which partner it is that is working...be it male or female. But the job market is spread too thin and family life suffers as a consequence of it all. Now both are having to work more hours, less pay. Together time...what is that?

Um, no. Not in the slightest. The aim of society should be 0% unemployment, everybody works, everybody contributes.

Not necessarily 0%, but I don't think 100% labor participation is ideal either.

I believe that everyone can contribute without everyone being employed. I think it would be 'more ideal' for society for half of the couples to be employed, with the other half raising the family and running the household.

I think we could have employment but I think we should not use "money" but we should trade for things and if we have nothing do work for what we need. Like example: If you had 5 broken chairs I would fix them for you and in return you would give me 2 loafs of bread or something and I just think that would make things better.

No.
We should be aiming to employment to no longer be necessary to attain a comfortably standard of living. It should be available to pursue for those who enjoy it, and those who want an above-average standard of living.

People are going to do things, it's just a question of whether or not we want to have a boss in the future.
I'm naively pro military so I'll say I'm pro boss as well.

My only problem with this is it's an impossible aim. However, I'd say the goal should be to provide for the greatest number of people while retaining the lowest per capita employment.
