the position of divine command ethics??

The position that what is morally correct is whatever is decreed by God.

so 'cannot be decreed by an individual' simply means that you don't believe that it is?
15 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Monday 4/23/07 - 5:09:36 PM EST (GMT-5)
No - my position is that moral claims cannot be correct on account of being commanded (by some being).

This Kurgan dude has to know Arwajani from the amount of times he used "laissez faire".

No.

Black people would have to be pretty n***ardly to have a problem with this :D

I've never heard that word before. I don't know if I'd use it, because a lot of people probably would immediately think the worst.

Why does it offend you?

14 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Tuesday 10/9/07 - 9:18:03 PM EST (GMT-5)
..No, it doesn't offend me.
But it sure would confuse me if someone said that in normal conversation.
14 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Tuesday 10/9/07 - 9:22:14 PM EST (GMT-5)
It doesn't offend me, since it has nothing to do with that other word. I rarely use it, and when I do, I am careful to enunciate it as to distinguish it from its racist cousin.
14 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Wednesday 10/10/07 - 7:33:12 PM EST (GMT-5)
No the word does not offend me. Let me admit, I did look it up before responding. I was thinking (while looking it up) a Mod better of not let this slip!
But thank you for expanding my vocabulary. Always appreciated.

Oh and to zerkalo your ignorance is no excuse because of where you are from.

Nope. I don't use it, but it doesn't offend me either.
14 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Saturday 10/27/07 - 11:40:16 AM EST (GMT-5)
It doesn't offend me, it just puts me in an uncomfortable mood.
14 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Monday 10/29/07 - 8:49:15 PM EST (GMT-5)
No, I'm not allowed to get offended because I'm white.
14 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Sunday 6/8/08 - 10:52:29 PM EST (GMT-5)
No, it's kind of a funny sounding word

No, and you have to be a complete sensitive idiot to be.
It doesn't share anything with the racial term 'n***er,' besides the first four letters, so there should not be any fuss about it.

I'm Asian, you don't hear me complaining when I hear that there's a chink in the wall. People need to get their heads out of their asses and learn to not be uptight PC freaks.
12 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Thursday 1/14/10 - 7:13:59 AM EST (GMT-5)
I can happily live without the word, I'd probably avoid using it these days just in case someone wasn't familiar with it and misconstrued what I was saying.
