'I like to drink red wine. This girl said, 'Doesn’t red wine give you a headache?' Yeah, eventually, but the first and the middle part are amazing. I'm not gonna stop doing something because of what happens at the end. 'Mitch, do you want an apple?' 'No, eventually it'll be a core. Who's Online | Find Members | Private Messages

Do you think the end result of an action reason is enough alone to not do it?
`I like to drink red wine. This girl said, `Doesn’t red wine give you a headache?` Yeah, eventually, but the first and the middle part are amazing. I`m not gonna stop doing something because of what happens at the end. `Mitch, do you want an apple?` `No, eventually it`ll be a core.``

well we eventually die, so... no?
15 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Sunday 1/21/07 - 12:09:10 PM EST (GMT-5)
Not in all cases.

If someone drinks heavy one night the end result may be a nasty hangover. I may have a bet on a certain game, and the team I'm betting on may be doing terrible, but makes a comeback and the end result is the money I win.

I think it really depends on the situation. Some things will be in certain people's favor, some won't.

Only in certain circumstances which I can't really name right now.

Maybe if it was something like smoking, but otherwise no.

I have a gallbladder issue so when I eat fatty foods I get extreme pain. So you'd think I'd quit the fat, right? Nope. I can't be taught:(

I think you have made a good point. We know what gives us a bad end result but most of us will ignore that knowledge and do whatever the action is again. Drinking is a really good example. How many of us have said never again after experiencing a terrible hangover and have gone out and drank again a few days/weeks later.

If the end result is worse than how great the first and middle part are, it's not worth it.

I LOVE Mitch Hedberg. He is like my all time hero.

R.I.P. man

mmm I loves me some Mitch Hedberg.

Anyway, I don't think so. I mean, every relationship will end and it will probably be bad (unless maybe you kill yourself with your s.o., but that isn't too common sooo..) but that doesn't stop people from getting into them in the first place. People do alot of things that will end badly, but it is better to live in the moment and suffer the consequences later, than to never live at all...I think.

Yeah but.. the core of an apple doesn't give you a headache. O.o;

If I think the end result isn't worth whatever it is I'm doing, then I won't do it. Generally.

15 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Tuesday 1/23/07 - 10:02:57 AM EST (GMT-5)
If the enjoyment doing something outweighs the consequences, then yes.
15 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Tuesday 1/23/07 - 2:59:03 PM EST (GMT-5)
Only if the end result is something terrible (ie - worse than a headache).
15 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Tuesday 1/23/07 - 11:35:19 PM EST (GMT-5)
Reaally depends. Only if the action outweighs the result.

LOL. Someone pointing out grammar errors with about 10 in their own post. I love YT.
You're an idiot, and if you can't understand this question, I'm sure you're oblivious enough to be surprised that everyone else who answered it found it to make "snese."
15 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Wednesday 1/24/07 - 11:35:42 PM EST (GMT-5)
Yes, in many circumstances.
15 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Saturday 2/10/07 - 12:52:55 AM EST (GMT-5)
Depends on the result.
15 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Saturday 2/10/07 - 1:10:45 AM EST (GMT-5)
Yeah, I think so. Such as if I knew that every time I got drunk I'd vomit in the morning... I'd stop drinking.
15 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Tuesday 4/10/07 - 11:29:23 PM EST (GMT-5)
all I have to say is this: R.I.P. Mitch Hedberg. The man was and still is my hero.

Sex if you're too young to take care of a kid.

It's pretty funny that before I even read the story I was thinking of that Mitch Hedberg joke.
*R.I.P*
Anywho, it depends on the action.
