There's always a grey area. Everything's always justified in the mind of someone who did something wrong.

I don't believe in very many shades of grey. I can definately think of somethings that fit the always right/wrong categories.

Very few things are ALWAYS anything. There are few absolutes in life.

I agree, there are almost always exceptions.

I can think of one thing that is always wrong.
Rape.

Definitions become important here.

I consider killing in war to be murder. Many people don't.

Many people consider abortion murder - I don't.

I consider the death penalty murder. Many people don't.

So, what constitutes murder? When is killing wrong?

I agree. I can't think of anything else though. Even murder has a grey area.

Child molestation, rape.

Always? No.
To be honest, I can't think of a single thing which I normally consider wrong which would be wrong 100% of the time.

Even in the case of things that seem clear-cut like murder and rape, there are always these odd, somewhat far-fetched -yet completely possible- scenarios that one could come up with in which the wrongness of something is ambiguous.

refusing to tell a murderer where your friend is does not constitute a lie

I do not believe there are any absolutes. There is nothing that is 100% right and 100% wrong. I don't even believe there is right or wrong.

ninjakitten is right. child malestation and rape are two that have no grey areas, and no excuse

but at the moment i am doing my extention 2 english thesis on just that, the grey area in alot of questions. m main topic n the stroy is, is it okay to kill one person, if you know they are about to commit a mass murder? does the means justify the ends? and i guess thats what the question always is when it comes to identifying what shade of grey you are ooking at, the means and the end.

Yes some things are right or wrong, period.

Can't think of any qualifier for rape, but as for child molestation... in many cultures throughout the world (geographically and historically) the age of marriage and consent has been considered to be much younger, so we would consider what to them is normal sexual activity to be criminal and immoral.
