I call BS on anyone who answered 'No', if you had to spend 15-60 years behind bars, being harassed every day, in a small, tiny cell with nothing to do but get your ass kicked, and there was even a GLIMMER of hope of leaving, any person would take it.

Yep, I would. Even if I get killed in the process, it's better than spending life in prison. If I knew there was a way to get out, I'd do it. Not sure where I'd go after that...but meh.
