The death of an animal only bothers me sometimes, and depending on the actor/character I've been known to get extremly emotional when one of my favorites dies. But that is rare.

Both are upsetting. I'm still waiting for a movie to come out that's not a comedy that won't make me cry.

Child deaths bother me. Old Yeller traumatized me when I was little. Should've had a mom like Phoebe's

It's sadder with animals because they play it up, and animals are more likeable because they never do anything to offend anyone. In hollywood, people are cattle... we're so used to watching them die, and not having any emotional attachment, it doesn't even matter.

It never affects me either way. I really don't care if the character's dog gies, or if his friend dies. It's just a movie.

I am an animal person, but if the human dies in an emotional way rather than a horror-movie way I would... still care more about the animal.
