if it is all televised and the college/university makes loads of money from them, then why not? Just make it in the form of a scholarship of free tuition, free accomodation and $3-5000 dollars per month.

No they should not get paid. College Atheletes get the free scholarships, the chance to go to school, the chance to be recognized nationally, and the chance to move on professionally. There is no need for them to get paid and it would blur the game in their eyes.

They are NOT professional athletes, they are collegs students and should be treated like college students.

NO! I am spending extra time to get my accounting degree, and no one's paying me. NO NO NO! Why should they be treated with anymore special attention that the hardworking students who slaved to get into college???????!!!!!!!!!

No; look at it this way.
I don't have much experience with athletes, but I do with musicians, and the situation is identical, but we find other gigs outside of college bands to pay us, so athletes (if they're good enough) should get other 'gigs' outside of college.

Hey i go to a Division 3 school and have $0 in athletic scholorships (cause their not allowed in D3), and all of my scholorships are ones i work for (academic), i think athletes should be paid a little bit, cause between class, games, practice, and studying i have zero time for anything else

no, i dont. the scholarship is more than enough. and if they cant hold down a regular job, or have trouble paying for stuff, they should quite their sport, get a job, and quit bitching.

I don't get paid for my extra curricular activities in college, so why should some athlete?
