This is a tough one, I'd want them to be straight so they could enjoy having a family of their own too, plus they would be more socially accepted. However I don't believe in designer babies...but seeing as it is hypothetical, I'd go ahead and engineer genetically, get used to the fact of never having a son. No offence.

I'd let God decide what gender I would have and then let them do as they wished.

No, i'd leave it up to nature. I really don't like the idea of designer babies. Besides, i don't have a problem with gays, so if i did have a son i'd be just as happy.

I wouldn't change a thing and would just hope that no matter what they are happy when they're older.

Wow, that'd be great, because then I could just paint the room pink with no gender worries.

I'll let God decide whether or not I'll be having a boy or girl.

Nah, I think I'd just leave it up to fate or whatever to decide whether I'd have a boy or a girl. I'd love them no matter what.

Not that I'm planning on having any kids, but sexuality doesn't really matter to me.

Jesus H. Christ. What a horrible question. And the submitter, based on posts as well as this question, seems to have REAL issues with this subject. You might want to talk to someone about it.

I would try to have a straight child, just so they wouldn't have to deal with a horrible stigma.

I'd prefer a straight child, of course, because it would mean that they would face far less social stigma. But the whole "genetic engineering" thing would just be pointless.

I guess I'd rather have the straight female child, because there is so much discrimination against homosexuals in our society, but my child's sexual orientation wouldn't matter to me personally. I would just let nature take its course and hope for a more tolerant society when my child grows up (regardless of their sexual orientation, really).

a society where you can choose sex and the looks of a baby is extremely wrong. God should be the only one who should decide this
