Some people can control their dreams. I've heard that there is a point of sleep just before or after rem where your half asleep but still aware of your surroundings. Thats (apparantley) when you can control your dreams. But it never works for me.

I did dream that I was flipping channels, and when I was watching CNN, there was a terrorist hostage taking in the studio, and my friend who was next to me said "Oh uh, this could be trouble", and I realize that I'm actually in the studio and had been watching it on one of their live screens, and I suddenly had to deal with freaks with big guns. It was worrying..until I woke up.

I can't concsiously control my dreams. I mean I guess I could stop crushing on that hot guy, or stop thinking I'll actually be a good lacrosse player, which would stop dreams about those things, but I can't really control them.

I think dreams are mostly random. There isn't really a "Daring" aspect to them. When I was little I had two recurring dreams. In one, the American military was really a secret organization of cannibals who used their power to cover up people's disappearances. In the other, I'm looking for my mother in a dark, rainy, endless parking lot with a small shack in the middle where The Mask (as in the Jim Carrey movie) lives. They aren't exactly things I would think about in my consciousness, so I know I can't have "Dared" them.
