I don't believe in anything, but I don't deny the existence of anything either. It's just as difficult for me to deny the existence of anything than to actually believe in anything. Though, honestly, I've read before about there being different types of agnostics and atheists. Perhaps I'm confused.

I use both terms to describe myself. Atheist simply to state that I don't actively have faith in God and agnostic to acknowledge that no-one can ever know. The two types of atheist that you may be thinking of are 'strong atheists' that claim there is no god and 'weak atheists' that simply don't know. I choose the word atheist for my profile because I see no reason for believing any more than pixies or fairies but of course I can't disprove any of these things

I guess the term 'agnostic' is more fashionable but I feel that this is influenced by Christians who sometimes equate atheism with evil
