That would be the shiznit. Kids run around outside and let off steam, but sometimes it turns into disturbing the peace. Plus kids sometimes mess things up - tear up yards or break windows playing ball and stuff. My street is child-free as far as I know of, and I love it. Everything is nice and quiet.

Oh yes! Fark, I'd love a child free city! Breed 'em outside city limits, let 'em grow up in their own little enclosure, you can go visit 'em on weekends (if you want) and the rest if the time, you don't have to worry about them. They can sort themselves out for food and things. It'll be just like kindy but with no adults!

When I get older, and if I don't have kids, I'd definitely consider it! Although I've heard stories that many of these adult neighbourhoods are extremely snooty.

The kids in my neighborhood I barely see anyway, so they don't bother me, but yeah, I don't care for kids so I wouldn't mind living in a neighborhood free of them.

That would be nice. And I bet the property tax would be lower, too because there wouldn't be a school right there.

People are picturing this 'kid-free neighbourhood' as it would look today. Lots of rich, trendy 30-40 something's couples or successfull singles, living a blissful life with no annoying ankle biters running around with their happy little voices and games. Look ahead 30 years and see the same people living as grumpy old age citizens growling and complaining about the leaves falling on their front lawns. Growling about everything. Just a neighbourhood full of grumpy old farts. I like the kids being around.

No... A couple of kids around wouldn't be bad. They'd be a source of some change, at least. Entirely different than, say, over half the families in a neighborhood having kids, though. *shudder*

Nah. I figure if I can live with the butthead adults, who think nothing of blasting music loud enough to shake my house until 3:00 AM, kids are a piece o'cake.

Sure. My neighborhood right now, though, as far as I'm aware, the youngest person besides me and my sister on the street is a senior in high school. And besides, little kids get jungle gyms. Let the adults have something for onec

I love kids - or else I wouldn't be studying Early Childhood Education - so I definitely wouldn't want a 'Child-Free' neighborhood.

I'm with Mallet. One or two is all right and good for business, or even more if the parents have any control over their kids. But my block has at least two little kids per house and the parents just send them outside everyday to make noise and messes in other peoples lawns.

Actually, I havent been home much during the day, except for lately. I have to say I enjoy hearing the kids play outside. It sorta makes me feel that all is ok in 'the hood', ya know? The kidz here are mostly younger , under 12...the teens play b-ball, no problems. Except when my daughter and her boyfriend and his friends come by. Rebels, they are *lol*
