It's probably making me LESS intelligent
17 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Friday 10/8/04 - 10:39:26 PM EST (GMT-5)
if you do a comparative study on human behavior - yes.

if YT enhances your life to gain better understanding of the world and yourself - then yes.

Take note that there is a difference between wisdom and foolishness.

17 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Friday 10/8/04 - 10:48:56 PM EST (GMT-5)
No, I don't need YT to make me smart. I just go on it to differ with people up to my intelligent need.
17 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Saturday 10/9/04 - 3:20:37 AM EST (GMT-5)
No, it just clutters my brain.
17 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Saturday 10/9/04 - 2:10:47 PM EST (GMT-5)
No, if anything it makes you brain-washed.
17 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Saturday 10/9/04 - 3:04:53 PM EST (GMT-5)

17 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Saturday 10/9/04 - 6:34:22 PM EST (GMT-5)
uhhh... I learned about satanism and what it was... i don't know if that makes me smarter.

It can't make you smarter.. it can only expose you to different ways of thinking and with an open mind you'll learn more.

17 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Saturday 10/9/04 - 7:12:04 PM EST (GMT-5)
I'd say more informed on some issues, but not more intelligent.
17 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Saturday 10/9/04 - 9:24:47 PM EST (GMT-5)
Not really.
I just find the information interesting.
17 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Sunday 10/10/04 - 7:10:26 AM EST (GMT-5)
Just makes me aware of new issues every now and then. 'Course I could just read the paper but then I'm too lazy to actually 'write' and send letters for the editorials.
I do like to see new topics on YT and then go follow up on them.
17 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Monday 10/11/04 - 6:16:13 AM EST (GMT-5)
In some ways it does. In others in dumbs me down.
17 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Tuesday 10/12/04 - 6:06:42 PM EST (GMT-5)
It depends on whether I'm in generals or journals...
17 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Monday 10/25/04 - 5:26:07 PM EST (GMT-5)
reading anything is good... and it's more what you do with the info than what the info is
17 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Monday 10/25/04 - 5:30:33 PM EST (GMT-5)
It really does help me to know what peoples' opinions are on politics. It's better than judging based on the people at my school
17 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Monday 10/25/04 - 5:32:39 PM EST (GMT-5)
no, its about as wasteful as the naps I take every day
17 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Tuesday 11/2/04 - 8:53:50 PM EST (GMT-5)
my IQ decreased 5 points just by caring.
17 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Monday 11/8/04 - 2:12:41 PM EST (GMT-5)
it's cool to see how many answers there are to one question... sometimes it gets too repetitive... that's when i take a smoke break to 'clear' my head
17 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Tuesday 11/9/04 - 2:21:23 PM EST (GMT-5)

17 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Sunday 1/30/05 - 8:23:03 PM EST (GMT-5)
hmm... Well sometimes I feel it does but others it dumbs you down
17 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Sunday 5/22/05 - 10:57:04 AM EST (GMT-5)
I voted "no" and then backed up. It was a lie. About an hour ago, I discussed the name of the Moon, and that prompted a discussion with my wife regarding the Chinese word or words for various moons. I learned that "moon," the generic word for a palnet's satillite, is "xin xin" and our own moon has a name (xue lian). That was educational, and there's no reason to think that was an isolated incident. So yes, it is educational.
17 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Sunday 5/22/05 - 11:01:57 AM EST (GMT-5)
Not particularly. Can't say i have read anything on here that i could say has increased my intelligence ha.
17 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Saturday 6/11/05 - 8:15:34 PM EST (GMT-5)

17 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Saturday 6/11/05 - 8:16:55 PM EST (GMT-5)
Possibly more informed, not more intelligent.
