Probably, at least to some extent. Personally I'd be very excited to be witnessing the next step in human evolution, but a bit upset not to be part of it. Also, I'd be worried about mutants who didn't properly control their power or actively used it irresponsibly.

I think people would fear them. Humanity fears what it doesn't understand. The mutants would face the same treatment as black slaves, chinese railroad workers, Irish immigrants, and so on.

Seems to me you're an idiot. I think that they would, but not so much because people would fear the mutants themselves, but more along the lines of the fear of the powers and misuse of powers. Good question, Omni.

Not to the extent that they portray in the comics and movies, but there will always be groups of ignorant people waiting to hate something.

No question about it. They would be feared and persecuted. Sad but true.

I'd want to be their friend and then have their babies to make more mutant children to populate the earth and eventually take over.

Yeah, I think so. Humans fear the unknown. How would you know whether or not someone was a mutant walking down the street and what they could do to you? I personally would find it a little scary. Unless I was the mutant. That would be fun.

I have a feeling I'd be one of the mutants . . . . . . .

I'd want to be a mutant myself. If someone made fun of me or something I'd just use my powers and be like, "oh yeah? Well can you do this?"

Assuming we're talking X-men style mutants, rather than the more prosaic day-to-day kind that already exist, I think the big problem would be that you'd have people with excessive powers. It'd be the equivalent of random people walking about with an AK-47. That'd scare most people. I think the fact that they're mutated would be pretty much an non-issue compared to the ability to kill you with a thought.

Yes. People are afraid of anything and anyone different. X-Men is, after all, just a metaphor for the real world's racism and homophobia.

I'd be scared too, except if I was one, in which case I would have babies with Envethis and take over the planet.

Ha! You added this question as if you think the world is filled with people that fear or even hate people that are different from them.
