I actually WANT to serve on a jury, so no, I wouldn't.
18 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Monday 5/24/04 - 4:22:48 AM EST (GMT-5)
I've been called for Jury Duty and I loved it. It was an extremely interesting proceedure and somewhat entertaining. Of course, I'm not taling about a murder/rape/brutal crime here. I just liked watching the process of the law on my little selected trial.
18 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Monday 5/24/04 - 4:24:29 AM EST (GMT-5)
No. I've been called for jury duty once. It wasn't all that excited, but it was something new. *shrug*
18 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Monday 5/24/04 - 4:28:34 AM EST (GMT-5)
ANything to get out of it, yes
18 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Monday 5/24/04 - 5:08:46 AM EST (GMT-5)
I moved so I could get out of jury duty. I was more than likely going to move anyway but this helped speed up the process. So yes, I would do just about anything to get out of jury duty.
18 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Monday 5/24/04 - 5:25:47 AM EST (GMT-5)
I would want to get called for jury duty, but if it was at a crucial time (classes I couldn't catch up in or exam-time) then I would lie.
18 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Monday 5/24/04 - 5:26:32 AM EST (GMT-5)
Nope
18 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Monday 5/24/04 - 6:55:38 AM EST (GMT-5)
I think I might, depending on how much it would inconvenience me to go.
18 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Monday 5/24/04 - 6:56:35 AM EST (GMT-5)
No! I want to do it!
18 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Monday 5/24/04 - 6:59:53 AM EST (GMT-5)
I think 'find someone else to do your dirty work' would suffice.
18 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Monday 5/24/04 - 9:17:36 AM EST (GMT-5)
I think jury duty would be a great experience, so no.
18 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Monday 5/24/04 - 9:22:15 AM EST (GMT-5)
I would like to be on a jury, but i don't know if you get jury duty in england.
18 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Tuesday 5/25/04 - 9:29:27 AM EST (GMT-5)
Not really. Unless... well, for me, almost everything depends on the situation. If i had the choice of spending a week in fiji, or jury duty, you KNOW i'm gonna weasel my way out of the latter.
18 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Tuesday 5/25/04 - 10:02:56 AM EST (GMT-5)
I've never lied while in jury selection. I've never been selected. I think defense attourneys have something against white, catholic, heterosexual men in their upper 20's/low 30's. I say that because none of my friends have EVER been selected either.
18 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Tuesday 5/25/04 - 10:13:42 AM EST (GMT-5)
Nah, why lie for that?
Plus, I'm too young.
18 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Tuesday 5/25/04 - 11:01:19 AM EST (GMT-5)
I would try 2 avoid it
18 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Tuesday 5/25/04 - 11:02:25 AM EST (GMT-5)
No, I want to do it! I'm not old enough yet, though...
18 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Monday 5/31/04 - 9:03:33 AM EST (GMT-5)
I actually want to do it...so, nope.
18 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Tuesday 6/1/04 - 9:22:19 PM EST (GMT-5)
I'll get back to you when that time comes :).
18 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Wednesday 6/2/04 - 10:54:18 AM EST (GMT-5)
i think it would be very intersting so no
18 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Wednesday 6/2/04 - 11:08:55 AM EST (GMT-5)
I have been called three times for Jury Duty (one of them was for a federal trial) and all three times I was exempted due to having moved just previously. I have never actually gone through the process even though I have no desire to avoid jury duty.
18 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Wednesday 6/2/04 - 1:11:03 PM EST (GMT-5)
No, I'd think it would be kind of interesting to see how the law works.
18 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Wednesday 6/2/04 - 1:41:10 PM EST (GMT-5)
It's possible I'd lie. I think the stipend is only equal to what I make in an hour and ten minutes' worth of work.

Anyway, I've been called several times already and haven't even made it past the questioning phase. So there's probably nothing to worry about.

18 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Wednesday 6/9/04 - 2:04:41 PM EST (GMT-5)
I wouldn't lie. But once when they asked if there was anything important I needed to tell them, I told them "I like chocolate milk" and didn't get picked.
18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Monday 7/5/04 - 7:16:34 PM EST (GMT-5)
No. I am not going to risk punishment for getting out of jury duty.
