Is the American economy strong enough to support the ever increasing cost of the conflict in the Middle East, without losing ground to the economy of the EU?

jersi-No disrespect intended. The economy is doing fine. Turn on CNBC. Quit believing the f**king media. The media downsizes America on a daily basis. It's their job! The market is doing terrific. People believe everything they read or see in the news. The reality of it is, there's work EVERYWHERE in this country. If you want to work, then you will find work! Trust me.

I've been looking for a good way to phrase this Q for a while. Thanks for being ontop of it.

Depends. How much will Europian countries under the guise of the UN be dragged into reconstructing Iraq? How much money will american contracters be able to squeeze out of the country? And, how much longer will we be there and what will our role be post-transition of authority. Too early to say.

Seeing as the US has a GDP equal to that of every EU nation combined, I think we're doing just fine so far. If it takes 25 countries to equal our economic output, I don't see how an extra 80 billion a year (compared to our GDP of over 10 trillion) is going to destroy us.
