Dishonesty is the worst.

Cowardice. It just bothers me. I don't mind people who lie unless they're lying about being a coward.

I am more insulted by dishonesty. I am more disgusted by cowardice.

Cowardice all the way. Takes guts to lie sometimes. Hmmm... and honesty to be a coward.
Dilemma here.

My favourite army unit, The King's Own Loyal Deserters. No one knows who these men are, as they are always seen at the back of the battle, disappearing over the horizon.

Their training manuals include:
"No Chance, I'm offski"
"Include me out"
and the bestselling "F**k this for a laugh"

Dishonesty puts men into the position where they have to join the KOLD (see Bush and Blair for details). So dishonesty is worse. I think.

I don't think you know what redeem means. Here's the short definition:

Main Entry: re·deem
1 a : to buy back : REPURCHASE b : to get or win back
2 : to free from what distresses or harms: as a : to free from captivity by payment of ransom b : to extricate from or help to overcome something detrimental c : to release from blame or debt : CLEAR d : ****to free from the consequences of sin
3 : to change for the better : REFORM
4 : REPAIR, RESTORE****

The wording of your question suggests that the portion of the difinition set off by asterisks (****) would apply, but the wording of your question also suggests that if one characteristic is less redeeming, the other is more redeeming. Neither of these characteristics is redeeming.

I could be friends with a coward but not with someone who is dishonest.
