you can put them after 'and' and 'but' now, the rules are always changing. I've had question rejected in here for not putting them after 'and' and 'but'.

I am highly aware of my use of commas. I used to over use them when I was a kid. When a teacher wrote a comment on my paper about it I was shattered. lol.

Yes, it's a major fault of mine. I also have a bad habit of drawings smileys when I'm writing letters too.

I dont overuse anything in writing. Creative writing happens to be my thing so I always make sure its as perfect as it could be.

I use comma to much. I ignore all the rules. I know there shouldn't be a coma, but I just have to add one too make it look better.

I have a run-on sentence problem, so I tend to put commas where maybe I should be putting periods. And sometimes I put commas where there would be pauses in natural speech but may not be grammatically correct... if that made any sense...

I love commas, and periods, and exclamation points, and question marks, and pound signs, and numbers, and letters, and semicolons, and parantheses, and asterisks, and percentage signs, and dollar signs, and brackers, and equal signs, and ampersands, and backslashes, and tildes, and at symbols.

I almost aways have a comma in my sentences, especially when writing a formal thing, but when I write short little comments, I tend to not have many commas, although, this comment, as opposed to most, has a lot of commas, eight to be exact.
