To me it is just totally wrong, maybe it's just gross to me, but it's really screwed up to wanna have sex with the dead...
19 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Thursday 5/29/03 - 6:14:19 AM EST (GMT-5)
But it is *potentially* hurting someone. Either the person whose body it is, were they to know it was being violated, would be outraged (because it is infringing on their rights) or the family, on the assumption that the deceased no longer has any rights, would be outraged, having inherited such rights. Plus it's just wrong. Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong.

Exactly what Kyry said.

Not that it doesn't gross me out too, and not that I don't have the same feeling that it is wrong wrong wron. But, just to be a pain, what if the person gave consent before death, and there were no family or survivors outside of the person doing the humping. Is it just plain old morally wrong to screw a dead body? How is it different from screwing any other inanimate object...is it just the connotation?
19 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Thursday 5/29/03 - 6:19:25 AM EST (GMT-5)
On that basis, it wouldn't be infringing on anyone's rights. So I fall back on my second point about it being wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong
19 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Thursday 5/29/03 - 6:20:33 AM EST (GMT-5)
I suppose, though, one can fall back on the fact that everyone would consider it an infringement of someone's rights, and so by universal consent, it would still be wrong.

^^^gotcha.

I recall reading recently about some dude in Germany who gave videotaped consent for his cannabalistic friend to kill and eat him. It's still in the courts, I think. I guess it would be something like that - consent or no sonsent, still illegal and wrong!

just plain weird

I saw that too, estella. Pretty freaky. And I think you're right...he's up for murder, consent or not. But that goes a little beyond someone who is already dead through no one's doing.

Yes, it doesn, but you get my gist !! :D

I don't believe in "wrong by universal consent." *Some* people don't think it's wrong. In the case where the deceased gave permission, it seems like that's at least one person who thinks it's ok. Add the person performing the act who thinks it's ok, plus anyone who answers "no" to this question. If it's wrong, it has to be for some reason. I agree with those of you who find it gross. But gross doesn't mean morally wrong.

Something that is wrong by universal consent is a universal subjective. That's how I meant it. Do you think there are no universal subjectives?
19 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Thursday 5/29/03 - 6:52:30 AM EST (GMT-5)
It all depends on whether the person agreed before they died in that case.
19 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Thursday 5/29/03 - 6:53:29 AM EST (GMT-5)
Which is different to the whole beastiality issue because animals can't agree. But either way it's very morally questionable!

I know Ich had something to say about this...
19 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Thursday 5/29/03 - 6:56:23 AM EST (GMT-5)
Its wrong because its disrespectful to the dead.
19 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Thursday 5/29/03 - 7:02:02 AM EST (GMT-5)
Yes, I had a feeling he'd challenge the idea it was wrong! :D
19 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Thursday 5/29/03 - 7:02:48 AM EST (GMT-5)
^^but what if the dead guy was insecure and wanted to feel like he could be attractive, even when dead. Isn't it then disrespectful NOT to f*ck him?
19 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Thursday 5/29/03 - 7:08:56 AM EST (GMT-5)
Well, when you put it like that, camelboy........:)
19 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Thursday 5/29/03 - 7:38:42 AM EST (GMT-5)
the dead are dead and therefore dont have any rights. they are just inaminate objects. it doesnt infringe on the deceaseds rights at all. of course they would be outraged if they were alive, but they are not. bearing that in mind, i dont think consent is an issue.
19 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Thursday 5/29/03 - 7:40:56 AM EST (GMT-5)
dimension, wouldn't you be upset if I died and some fat gary lookalike raped my body?
19 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Thursday 5/29/03 - 7:42:40 AM EST (GMT-5)
yes, i would, but if the person in question had no friends or relatives, there would be nobody to get upset by it. also, it wouldnt be rape because a dead body is an inaminate object.
19 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Thursday 5/29/03 - 7:50:42 AM EST (GMT-5)
Why do we bother having funerals then? If a body means nothing, why not just fling them all in a big box and bury them under concrete?
19 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Thursday 5/29/03 - 7:53:39 AM EST (GMT-5)
i seriously agree with that. when my parents die i plan to do exactly that. in fact my dad himself suggested its stupid to blow thousands on a funeral anbd tthat we might as well just chuck his body on the compost heap!!
