An April movie release?

I'll pass.

Just saw this today, and it is a really good movie.
A unique style, edgy, cool and I love all that crazy talk they do.
And that headshot scene was just perfect.

One question though, Brendon said he had "knives in his eyes". Anyone know what that means?

Looks like a high school boy's wet dream.

I'll pass too.

I'm guessing this was 1930's film noir inspired?

I think it was amusing and intruiging in places with good performances overrall, and the character of The Pin was well thought out.

I missed the middle few scenes it took me a while to peice together what actually happened in the movie.

You know...even after watching it, it's still a bit sketchy...

Wikipedia will probably help you more than I can here.

you ignorant idiot.

It was a really good film but im with hyper on his POV. I saw it after the england games and i'd had a few so it was a bit tricky to follow, its definitely one to watch again to understand it fully.

Very good film, I don't think I've ever seen a high school crime noir film before, but it had all the feel of a classic like Double Indemnity or The Maltese Falcon.

Good performances all around, and the ending in the house was stunning.

Pretty good if you've got an uninterrupted viewing. You will need the concentration, the lingo was a little hard to follow.

I liked it a lot. It felt fresh and interesting, and had a decent film noir plot at it's heart. I loved the style, with the language and stuff.

The cant to this piece has an edge to it. A basher can't be in his bub when he scans it or he'll never tumble to the rattlin' of their boneboxes. But a canny cutter should put the shine on the dark of it.

Very film noir. A brace of opposables skyward.

I remember seeing a trailer for this and really thinking it looked interesting. I hope to see it soon.

i loved this.

some very slick and very rich dialogue (memorably rich), and excellent use of locations. i thought each actor/actress played their role fantastically. i need to buy this.

The Brain: What'd she whisper to you?
Brendan: She called me a dirty word.

hearing The Velvet Underground's 'Sister Ray' as the credits rolled was the perfect ending touch.

The lingo made it confusing. I liked the plotline although I think at sometimes it dragged on. It's filmed uniquely though and is worth watching. 7/10

Yeah, the argot is nice and complex. I like how they didn't dumb it down.

Is there some online guide to what all of the lingo meant? I'd really like to know what some of it was about.

VERY GOOD MOVIE! One of my favorite! The skript is really well writen. The actors do a pretty good job. Very well done!

I had to suspend disbelief to watch this movie, but after doing so, I loved it. The 20-30's banter was really fresh coming out of these kids mouths. Great directing, acting, cinematography and musical score.

Film noir in high school; I wish they would make more movies like this gem.

Just a helpful hint: The lead mumbles a lot. Subtitles are your friend.

I thought this was very sad... a little overrated too, though. Mostly because for the first half of the movie I had no idea what was going on at all. Then when I did, I found it hard to relate to any of the charactars.

But even that said, I thought the acting was incredible by everyone.

The first time I saw this, I watched it with a noir fangirl who wouldn't close her trap during any of the plot points, so I had no clue what was going on.

Then I watched it by myself and I gotta say, this is top 10 material. I like a movie I can watch more than once and notice something new every time. I think for someone notorious for hating every damn Humphrey Bogart movie ever made, that says a lot. Forget those stuffy old guys. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a dish.

It's a really high quality, smart, original movie. I just didn't like it much.

It also distresses me that Tug is a real person, (or played by one). I wish that he was a cartoon and no one like him existed.

14 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Thursday 8/2/07 - 4:32:57 AM EST (GMT-5)

As I started watching it, I was extremely annoyed.
(Just because I've never liked teenagers, in general.)

Only when I decided to get over myself and remember that I'm human was I able to realize that I appreciate it. I'm a sucker for good-dialogue, and this film certainly had it. I loved how perfectly age-appropriate this is. The style and delivery of the dialogue obviously wasn't very accurate to real-life, but the vocabulary completely was. I was also happy to see kids playing their actual age versus 30 year olds playing as 18.

Loved it.

Did we watch the same movie? Weren't most of the actors in their mid-20s?

This was certainly NOTHING like real highschool. Save our souls if it was.
