Darn you! I heard about this months ago but I couldn't add it for some reason.

This movie looks absolutely fabulous. Reese is probably being type casted after her work in The Importance of Being Ernest, but who cares?

I thoroughly enjoyed the first hour or so, but after that it seemed to jump around like nobody's business giving no sense of the passage of time apart.
The men were so dashing, especially James Purefoy. Reese Witherspoon was ok, not great and I'm sure they could've found a better actress with the right accent. The supporting cast were great, Rhys Ifans was perfectly cast.

The title sequence was the most beautiful thing, it were so simple with the song. They were my favourite part.

I really liked this movie and I loved Reese as the lead. Vanity Fair is a great book and Becky Sharp is one of the most influential female characters in modern literature. The supporting cast was also amazing and the whole film came together nicely.

It seemed a long movie to me, but maybe that was just because I was tired. Overall I thought it was fairly good, not having read the book. I wasn't as interested in hearing what happened to Becky Sharp as I was her friend Amelia though.
