Honestly, the Clone Wars animated series was orders of magnitude better than any of the prequel trilogy films. Granted, those were pretty much varying degrees of hot garbage, so the bar isn't that high, but the animated series actually was really good.
So anyway, yeah, I don't think there's any reason to be apprehensive about a new Star Wars TV series just *because* it's a TV series. It could be crap! But if it is, I don't think you can blame the medium.

I quite like the whacky arm waving IG droid...
I've seen a bunch of opinion pieces lately from people more invested in Star Wars than me about how bringing Palpatine back will cheapen Anakin's redemption arc over the the original trilogy. If that's what they doing with the Emperor and it's not just a swerve that is, like he ends up only being in flashbacks or something. I'll reserve judgement until I see it, but I can imagine it being difficult to do in a satisfying way (I'm aware it's not the first time in the expanded universe).
I think it'll be good for them to get away from the core characters of the films a bit more.
So, Anakin's redemption was not in that he rid the galaxy of evil (killing Palpatine), but that he saved his son (Luke). Any which way they use Palpatine does not change this whatsoever.
Luke is the reason he turned back to the light, period.
If people don't get that, I consider that on them and most of them are just looking for something to complain about, anyway.

The GOT dudes don't get a SW trilogy now, btw, lol.
There have been "leaks" for months now, but I generally ignore them. I heard a vague one recently that I will be surprised if it's not part of the story line (in part because of merchandise at GE), but I'm not even sure I buy the stolen script story, tbh.

I never considered it could just be a fake story to drum up publicity. I think there’s already a lot of anticipation for this one.

I mean, it might not be, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were embellished for good interview story telling.
I tried to buy tickets but I was too late. The first weekend is sold out. I managed to get tickets for noon on Christmas Eve. That’s a pretty good Christmas gift to myself. My son and I are going. He’s my Star Wars buddy.
