Didn't like the first one... don't think I'll like the new one.

Kevin Bacon was the only thing saving the first film from being anything but ungodly terrible (instead it was just mildly terrible).
This one doesn't stand a chance

I disagree. I think the first film was a cinematic masterpiece, based off the tractor chicken race alone. Bad 80's movie at its best.

I tend not to like "80's" movies* good or bad
*By that I don't necessarily mean movies that happened to be filmed in the 80's but movies that would seem amiss if they were filmed in any other decade (Footloose, Red Dawn, Sixteen Candles etc.)
The only one I can think of that gets a pass is the Back To The Future trilogy

I completely disagree.
John Lithgow was a definite plus as well.

I have no interest in this. The 80s ended 20 years ago and people worship them beyond any reasonable measure.

The critics claim it's as good as the original which I saw, way back when. That would make it sort of OK. Not good, but not totally awful.

I feel like this movie was being promoted months ago and now is being repromoted again for a release.
Am I going crazy?

This movie is blasphemy. Pure and utter blasphemy. I refuse to see it.

I haveta agree with this. Yes, I realize it's been a full year, but I'm only about 1/4 of the way in and yikes.

It's alright, considering it's a shot for shot remake. Kinda hard to really screw up.

Have you seen Psycho in color with Vince Vaughn?

It is but it's not.
Lori Singer was more believable - she knew she was sex on two legs, Julianna Hough didn't pull it off as well.
And Kevin Bacon's acting was miles better than the other guy.
The music, too, wasn't as good.

No, but I've heard how bad it was. I suppose you're right with that one.

Oh, I agree. I didn't think this movie should have been remade at all, but it wasn't the worst music-movie I've ever seen.
