I kinda thought the same thing. I think it was more his voice though. He had a very Ewin Mcgregor like voice.

Anyway, I loved it. The visuals were amazing. And I personaly loved the Bono part. Though the Hey Jude part was probably my most favorite.

I saw it again yesterday and it was still amazed me. I'm really liking the weird parts. You know, the Mr. Kite bit and "I Want You (She's So Heavy)." The statue of liberty part was genius.

I totally bought the soundtrack.

and imo, if they kept the 3+ hour edit that she created, it would've been pushing it a little. I still would have loved it, but you know. It was great without those three characters.

I also saw her on Inside the Actor's Studio, for some reason, and she was kind of insane.

The soundtrack is amazing - pay the extra 4 bucks and get the 2disk set!

I finally saw it and thought it was great!! My friend, who doesn't like the Beatles, even said it was good and that she would watch it again.

FANTASTIC.
Oh my God.
The wait was so worth it!
I loved it so much!
All their voices were amazing, especially Sadie's.

I would totally go see it again.

Oh, there was one thing that bothered me a bit:

If Jude is from Liverpool, why does he have what sounds like an Irish accent?
13 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Saturday 10/13/07 - 12:02:33 PM EST (GMT-5)
It sounds like a Liverpool accent to me. I read an article where Jim Sturgess says that when he met Ringo after the premiere, he seemed convinced by the accent. Sturgess is really from London.

I thought his accent was perfect for LP in the 1960's. Man. That guy was so dreamy.
I got shivers when it started with him on the beach "Does anybody want to listen to my story..." MELT.

Srsly. The soundtrack is the best thing since sliced bread.

Is that song that he sings on the soundtrack?

Yeah, but I think you have to get the deluxe soundtrack.

saw it tonight. best movie ever. I'm seeing it again tomorrow haha. the songs are amazing! this movie has everything in it...it's funny, it's suspenseful, it's sad, it's upsetting, it's kinda scary at times, it makes you mad, it makes you happy, it makes you think. it has so much symbolism in it. I think it'll win an award.

If you like movies with a good plot, solid characterization and deep love stories this movie is not for you. Conflict? Zilch. Pointless? Yes. Ooh, but the dazzling visuals!! Whatever, drat off. Yes, this film is fun to look at, but I can't be babysat by pretty colours and sh*tty singing for 2+ hours.

I completely disagree. It had a great plot. I didn't expect anything that happened. It was unpredictable and had many many different points. Plus, I thought they sang really well. They sang on set...they didn't record it before-hand and lip-synch.
13 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Friday 10/19/07 - 2:53:43 AM EST (GMT-5)
Of course people will disagree with me, but I would substitute "unpredictable" with "completely random and incoherent." And it cameos BONO for God's sake. What other element of self-congratulatory narcissism do we really need? And they sing their own songs? Maybe that explains the dead, flat tone of their voices (save Sadie and her boyfriend.) Not one ounce of passion is voiced in the entire project, instead we are presented with visuals and abstract ideas that are meant to tell us that this is passion that we're viewing. But it's now. It's boring and flat and completely overdone. Go ahead and disagree with me now.

But it's *not.

No plot?
Are you retarded?

Here, this is the plot, so you obviously missed it: In the 1960s, Jude travels to America to find his father. While there, he meets Max and Lucy, Max's sister. Also, Prudence leaves her life in Ohio to come to New York, where she meets Max, Lucy, Jude and their roommates, Sadie and JoJo.

No conflict?
Yeah, there were absolutely no war protests in the movie.
Nothing happened; everyone sat around and stared at each other.

Dumbass.

You are obviously entitled to your opinion but how can you say that this movie doesn't have a deep love story? There was so many different love stories besides the main Jude, Lucy one. That part of your statement discredits the rest of it for me. Btw I thought the characterization was excellent considering how many different characters there were.

O"Here, this is the plot, so you obviously missed it: In the 1960s, Jude travels to America to find his father. While there, he meets Max and Lucy, Max's sister. Also, Prudence leaves her life in Ohio to come to New York, where she meets Max, Lucy, Jude and their roommates, Sadie and JoJo."

Yeah, that's what happens in the movie, but as far as I'm concerned that's NOT a plot. It's just a stupid series of scenes here there following characters that I could really give less of a sh*t about. Why should I care about them? The director doesn't give us a reason. She also doesn't give us a reason for Jude to love Lucy. Why is she so great? She puts out? If she just gave us a reason why he loves her so much, maybe their love story could have meant something more. But no, he just loves her, just because.
Do you even know what conflict is? This movie is not about war protests. Therefore the (main) conflict has nothing ot do with war
