that will be one of two superhero movies i refuse to see

the other being fat4stic

honestly FanFourStic is fascinating to me as the decayed husk of what could have been a great film (or at least BETTER). the studios fingerprints are all over the damn thing and pretty much everyone involved has said that Josh Trank's vision for the film was at odds with what Sony wanted and Sony won (hence the completely re-worked, hackneyed ending sequences)

fox not sony but yeah. but i just cant do it. ive seen the scene at the end and honestly “wait... say that again” turned me off of fatastic 4 until late last year when i read an issue where reed makes friends with a suicidal cancer patient

i disagree. i think the first act had really good moments and found the second act to be the worse act

from what I got, parts were meant to appeal to different audiences and celebrate bits of cinematic lore. They seemed to pull it off and blend everything successfully in my mostly ignorant to comic book movies opinion

the whole thing was just a breezy and fun ride, but in defense of the first act.... the strike team had great chemistry (but jude law and larson had ZERO chemistry. their solo scenes together were almost painful). that scene where they’re going through their memories were super cool. that scene where she has the restraints on and still just kicking their asses was awe-some. her not giving two single sh-ts about SHIELD really landed for me.

but idk. im a huge mcu apologist though and every single one of them are better to me than they are to probably other people but this one just worked for me

Mom and I went to see They Shall Not Grow Old.

For those who don't know, it's a WWI documentary done completely with archival footage from the Imperial War Museum. The footage has been...I don't even know how to describe what's been done to it. "Restored" isn't a strong enough word. It is absolutely breathtaking.

I loved it. It's probably my favourite documentary.

I remember waiting so long for it to be released but it was well worth the wait.

It's certainly one of the most impressive things I've seen.

At the part where

the footage goes from the old black & white stuff you're used to, into the full color restoration, I had trouble even listening to the narration for several minutes. I had no idea how far they'd taken the restoration and I was just staring at everything.

The sound editing was unbelievable. Just fully immersive and so, so affecting. The entire package was just masterfully done.

The trailer for the new Tarantino looks like a Coen brothers movie.

I haven't seen the trailer yet, but I'm looking forward to it for obvious reasons.

that movie seems like a ragdoll wet dream

I thought Captain Marvel was average at best. Jude Law and Annette Bening looked confused as to why they were there and the CGI was a bit off-putting.

A couple of neat ideas, but baggy pacing and fan service let this down.

[Ben Mendelsohn continues to rule]

I'm rewatching Blade Runner
I can understand a lot of the changes between the book and the film, but I don't understand why they added a rape scene..

I did watch the trailer for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood last night and I'm pretty jazzed to see it.

I wish Brad Pitt wasn't in it (not a fan), but it is what it is.

I imagine the murders will be shown in all their gory details.

Brad Pitt is a superior actor than Leo. Sorry rag, I will miss our friendship.

I really hope not. It would be in very bad taste.
