Yes, the part where the mom was on all fours and yelling that she just wanted to die had me upset as it felt so raw.

YES, OMG. Just thinking about dealing with that situation was entirely disturbing. Peter didn't watch out for his sister and then ends up accidentally killing her, the decapitation, how he just drove home and went to bed because he was in shock, etc. Ugh.

The movie is essentially pain and suffering pron.
I need to find an uplifting but non-cheesy movie. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I watched It Comes at Night last night and it was pretty good.
Sometimes I almost prefer the horror/suspense films that don't show you the threat because, if it's not well done, it's sort of ridiculous-looking more often than not. The guy that plays Will was Charlie in Girls and that was a little distracting for me, lol. I liked Joel Edgerton in this.

Bohemian Rhapsody
I really liked it. I liked looking behind the scenes at what was going on with Freddy Mercury at the time. The end was sad.

The end is not historically accurate.
It's several years later after the concert that he learns he is hiv+

I mean, I'm not saying it as a bad thing, it's Hollywood, not a documentary.
They went for a big impact.

i watched Polar
it was......... too long?
like it’s very tightly shot and the writing is decent. the story itself is good. but they could have easily shaved off 20 minutes of this movie and it would have been better.
but the style is cool! its kinda like john wick, the raid, and suicide squad had a threesome.
id really give it a 7/10 so if you got an extra 2 hours to kill. give this is a shot

Yeah but it still bugs me when they do that. If they stretch the truth a little for effect, it’s ok; but sometimes they stretch it a lot. Example: the JFK movie. Oliver Stone himself said he made up facts for the movie.

What bugged me in the JFK movie is the Garrison speech during the trial. It was an op ed he wrote later. It really doesn't sound like a court argument. No wonder Kostner appears weak doing it.
Damn good suspens, that movie, though.

I don't mind that much. Otherwise I'd be f-cking pissed about Argo.

Captain Marvel is like your divorced dad's new girlfriend who tries to not take herself seriously and have a good time and succeeds to the point where you kind of don't mind she and your dad talked about politics for three minutes straight on the way back from the movies

I sort of loved him in that! I think politicians should still have to wear the powdered wig and painted face

this is incredibly apt
it's...Just Fine. perfectly cromulent superhero film. a pretty bad first act and a pretty decent third act. the cat was fun. an acceptable enough superhero film. i will forget it by years end
