Absolutely amazin choreography. To make dancing look like fighting...way cool. And the music is just so memorable as well. Angel--my favourite song from this is Officer Krupke as well.

Now mind you, I love musicals. Its not that bad of a musical, I know its classic and everything. However, I don't think the guy that played Tony did an exceptional job, I think it could have been cast better. It has its good moments, and it has a lot of quality music, costuming, choreography, and whatnot going for it. Some of the music could have used improvement though. As warrick said... decent.

Musicals rock. I love them. I know they are corny, but they have to make ya smile.

You already used that line on your commentary for "the Sound of music". Care to say anything original, jess?

Great music, but it's pretty sappy. Similar to Romeo and Juliet.

I've always wondered what an updated version of this movie might be like. Say black gangs vs hispanic gangs in LA. It could have a cool rap soundtrack.

This movie has everything a musical needs: great music, cool dancing scenes and good acting. Ok, the Romeo and Juliet story *is* cheesy. So what?

i never liked the songs, the story was horrible, even tho it was based on Romeo and Juliet.

If you grew up on the streets of NYC in the 50's the movie had a sense of realism that to us kids at that time related to the street gangs ,prejudice ,distrust of cops and music.....this movie is one of all time best especially its choreography......The guys who play Tony abd Riff appeared together on TV in TWIN PEAKS

Two weeks ago, I performed in this show.. And I JUST finished watching the movie now. For compairison.. I think the movie has AMAZING dancing, but the singing and acting(save Natalie Wood, her acting was amazing) could have used GREAT amounts of improvement. I think I'm just biased because the show I was in had really, really, really amazing singers. But, I'll admit it, I SOBBED at the end of the movie. Oi!
