I liked them all. I think I heard something about them making a new one...has anybody heard that? That would be great.

This definitely was the best of all of them.
19 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Friday 2/22/02 - 11:30:46 AM EST (GMT-5)
This is the movie that led to the PG-13 rating, due mainly to "the part where that guy gets his heart pulled out...".

This was my least favorite Indiana Jones movie, but it's still good. It just went a little too far.

ACtually, this and gremlins both led to the pg-13. I didn't like this one much at all. The other two are classics, but this one just had too much bad acting. The Short round kid was one of the worst child actors I've ever seen, and all Kate Capshaw did for the entire movie was scream.

OK, trav, I know it's your wont to disagree with everything I say, but I do know what I'm talking about! Gremlins was criticized, but Temple Of Doom sealed the deal. Ask anyone in the biz and they'll tell you THIS film inspired the PG-13 rating.

You're probably right (and your memory is probably better :) ). I just remembered both of the movies catching a lot of flack for the amount of violence in a PG film.

I think of Indiana Jones movies like Star Wars, I just can't sit through the whole thing.

I liked all of the Indiana Jones movies, but I think this one was the best. That heart thing freaked me out though...
18 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Friday 6/6/03 - 5:16:15 AM EST (GMT-5)
Definitely the worst of the Indiana Jones trilogy (...The Last Crusade is BY FAR the best!), but worth seeing nonetheless

It's offensive to Hindus. The goddess Kali is shown as being evil and violent, even though the actual Kali's "violence" represents the purging of sin, not bloodlust. It would be a good movie if it weren't for that.

This is the best of the trilogy, followed by Last Crusade.

Ok, either I haven't ever seen this movie (which is almost impossible) or everytime I watch this I some how MISS the part where the guy gets his heart pulled out. I have no idea how I could have missed it everytime I've seen it. I know that I've seen the movie, I know that I saw it when I was younger, I KNOW that the heart would have given me nightmares, but I also know that I've seen the movie, never seen the heart. This is very strange to me...

I thought this was the worst one in the series.

'The Temple Of Doom' is the least of the Indy movies thus far.

Even today, the violence of the sacrifice scene is excessive. The horror of that scene could have been conveyed much more effectively (or even left out altogether) - but unfortunately, it's overdone and offensive (later, having the stupid slapstick of Willie Scott being caught in almost the same predicament makes it seem even more tasteless).

Apart from that, 'The Temple Of Doom' suffers from a dull and overlong middle section - and there's also the infuriating Willie Scott, one of the most annoying movie characters ever (I don't mind Short Round - he's nowhere near as bad as Willie, and at least he's active and involved).

'The Temple Of Doom' does have its moments, though - the mine-cart chase and the final confrontation on the rope-bridge are still amazing sequences - and of course, there's the man himself. Harrison Ford as Indy is an all-time classic, even when he's in a lesser adventure.

All the Indiana Jones movies are fun and action packed! Cool scenes.

Willie was the most incompetent Indiana girl ever.

YAY! I grew up on the Indiana Jones movies and this was my favorite. I have to disagree, though, I think that the girl in Raiders was a little more competent than Willie.

When i was five, I used to crawl behind the tv at the part where the guy gets his heart ripped out. :)
