Guerrilla: Of course it is. But, I'll agree that that's not what "Trainspotting" is saying.

I f*cking LOVE this movie. Exellent. I understand if some of you f*ckheads didn't like it, because "it was so "depressing"". :D But seriously. It hasn't got a happy ending. SO WHAT? Still go see it. The important thing to me was it made me feel.

I wanna see it- heard it was amazing- but i'm not very good with movies that are extremely graphic... is it really bad?

I love this movie. This is by far one of my favorites... my friend made me watch it and I love her for it. If you have not yet seen this movie, do yourself a favor and watch it.

This is definatly an awesomw movie. It's my favorite. The soundtarck is awesome and the book its based on is even better. The author Hubert Selby Jr. co-wrote the screenplay for the movie. Everyone who's seen it should definatly check out the book.

Haven't see this one yet. I always get it confused with Vanilla Sky.

Amazing film! This is definitely one of my favorites. I saw this film when I had been in a depressed mood. This movie snapped me right out of it and made me grateful for all I have in my life. There are worse things than dying from an addiction. I used to work in a treatment center where we treated a lot of heroin addicts. Believe me, this is not a glamorous drug. That abscess on Jared's arm looked like the real thing. We had a patient that had one on her neck. Everything in this film was dead-on accurate in its depiction of drug abuse. I too believe this film would be much more effective as anti-drug education than anything the schools are teaching now.

I'm going to have to agree with everyone that said that this is NOT an anti-drug flick. That was not the whole point. As others have already said, it is a film about the pitfalls of addiction. Take Ellen Burstyn's character, for example, can you really compare diet pills to the harder, more illegal drugs, such as heroine? If so, then you must eliminate a lot of the other prescribed drugs on the market today. My point is that it isn't the drug alone that kills the person. It's the person who uses them who also kills him/herself, from lack of self-control. Which essentially means that they became addicted. And drugs no matter how illegal or legal, how benign or malignent, can be dangerous if not used correctly (ie: Sarah's o.d. on diet pills). I hope I've made sense here.

Needless to say I love the movie. Definitely up there on my list. And to all those that clicked "skip it", I hope you guys saw the movie first before you made that little judgement. Because if you haven't yet, you will be quite regretful when you do see it.

No offense, pxh, but that sounds pretty much like any other anti-drug message. Showing "the pitfalls of addiction" differs from saying "drugs are bad" only semantically. Don't use 'em beacuse they CAN be dangerous. I can't imagine anyone seeing this film and wanting to try any of it. I would agree that this isn't a "message film", however, and was not the intent of those involved. I just think it's anti-drug by default.

this movie was awesome. i just saw it last night and i was amazed...i dont think that i blinked through the whole thing in fear that i would miss something. this was one of those movies that didnt have any boring parts...i was totally into the movie the whole time. i love gruesome, non-sugar coated movies like this.

Yeah, whoever said that this wasn't an anti-drug flick must have not watched the whole thing... ...after seeing this movie I NEVER want to do Heroin!

This movie made me *so* depressed and movies never disturb me. It obviously did it's job. Great movie, the music was perfect for it. It set the atmosphere. Perfect movie...

This movie is so incredibly amazing, my favorite movie ever. So disturbing yet makes you realize what effects drugs of that magnitude can have on you when abused. Ahh, this movie gets me in ways others dont.
19 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Saturday 3/22/03 - 10:49:13 AM EST (GMT-5)
no, it's not an anti-drug flim. It is about addiction and what it does to people, it can be anything. In the book they showed it slightly better. There is also food addiction, TV, and so on. Drugs were just the easiest to show.
19 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Friday 4/25/03 - 6:37:45 AM EST (GMT-5)
I love this movie, had no idea so many people have seen it(everyone I ask hasn't). It's even better when your f*cked up
19 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Friday 4/25/03 - 8:35:44 AM EST (GMT-5)
I personally thought it was dumb, pointless, and boring. I dont even think I watched the whole thing
18 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Tuesday 6/3/03 - 8:24:34 PM EST (GMT-5)
I never thought a movie could actually affect me, but after seeing this, particularly the last few minutes, I know that I'm never sticking a needle into my arm. Screw all those annoying little anti-drug videos the school shows students every year. If they show them this, they might actually get a point across. (Although it would probably scar the kids for life...)

Jared Leto is hott, liked him in "Urban Legend"...he's a good singer in his band "30 Seconds To Mars" too! Anyway, this movie got my dizzy and queezy by the end!
