this is one of my favorite movies. if you like this one checkout PI Darron Aronofsky's first movie. He is also directing the next batman

Is this movie depressing? That's why I didn't see it yet. I don't like being depressed by movies.

Ellen Burstyn deserved the Oscar for this. Julia was great in E.B., but Burstyn is stunning.

Was Ellen Burstyn running against Julie Roberts in the Oscars. I thought Burstyn was up for best supporting actress. In anycase I would be (pleasently) surprised if Burstyn had won.

Absolutely scary movie about drug abuse. Burstyn was incredible as a diet pill addict. I made the same comment in the "trainspotting" thread, but I'll say it again. These two movies made sure I'd never try heroin.

Burstyn should've won the Oscar. Julia's fine, but see this and there's no doubt who was the Best Actress that year.

Crap, this is probably one of my all-time favorite movies. The storyline isn't all that unique, but the way that it was filmed was just amazing. It really got you thinking about how screwed up the characters were.

One of the most disturbing and powerful films I have ever seen. I think it just strengthened my resolve not to use any kind of drugs. Ever!
I agree with the others though, Ellen Burstyn deserved the Oscar.
