it was good. it felt pretty rushed and a lot of it just seemed hastily thrown together, but Garfield and Stone were incredible. it was fun. the crane scene was cheesy but the scene from the original with 'LEAVE SPIDEY ALONE IF YOU MESS WITH HIM YOU MESS WITH US' was incredibly cheesy too.
also Gwen is so gonna be dead by the end of the end of the series. also also, i liked the overarching story about Peter's parents and how he may be involved in some sort of conspiracy. that's neat.
oh man that crane part. i almost got up and left when they started doing that.
i'm glad i'm not the only one who picked up on the pacing. and it shouldn't feel rushed because the movie is almost 2 and a half hours long. they either tried to do too much or they should have cut some scenes to add better ones or something to clean up that film.
I really enjoyed this one. Loved it, even. And I don't say that often about movies. I'm not a big movie buff, but this one kept me entertained the whole time, I was interested in all the characters, and it really blended suspense and humor and sadness so well.
The chemistry between Spiderman and Gwen Stacy was awesome. Not to mention how much better Gwen Stacy is than how I remember Mary Jane. Gwen is smart, self-assured, brave, and SHE ACTUALLY DID SOMETHING that was important in the plot. From what I know of comics, that is pretty huge for a superhero's love interest, and as a chick I appreciated that.
And Spiderman was damn sexy. When I saw the guy who played him in the opening scene I thought, "I get to see this guy jump around in a spandex suit for two hours? Hell yes."
