i tried it in german, tagalog and spanish too.
german you need to know how to make the umlaut, spanish you need the tilde and the ene..tagalog is the only one that had only english letters only and i did:

I did it twice. Got 265 and 281 characters per minute (49 and 53 word per minute).
Not super fast, but pretty good considering I have never taken a typing class or used a typing program, and I type with 4 fingers (both pointers and middle fingers).
Didn't have any wrong words, but I look at the keys as I type.

31 wpm in French...+ 8 wrong...I didn't try for the accents
(I took four years of French in high school)
oddly enough I did better in German (54 wpm with 5 incorrect), a language I don't know at all.
