I coined a different phrase for the half hippie, half yuppy (definitely describes me) ... Huppie. I've never heard of Scuppie! But whatever you call it I think I am one, whatever this quiz says

Your Score: 10
Your devotion to making eco-friendly choices is evident, but to be a true Scuppie, you’ll have to ditch your thriftiness and start dropping some cash on your environmentally friendly purchases. If this isn’t something you aspire to, perhaps you’d be interested in learning How to Save the Earth and Get Rich Trying. Regardless of where you go from here, kudos to you for your environmental awareness.

6-10 points: Great Eco-Effort
I got 9 points

Funny thing about those results is I spend SO much money on organic food, organic plants and soil, even organic sheets and pillows and stuff. I use non-toxic cleaners, even though all this stuff costs more. So even though I'm not 100% "green" I do try.

My big sin is no recycling. There's literally noplace here to do it. This city cares nothing about it for some reason - our building has tried to open some kind of recycling center or area and the city has refused to come pick it up. I feel so bad, the amount of plastic I have to throw away

That's just horrible! No recycling? I would hate my city if it didn't have a recycling program in place. I jump on everyone who throws something away that should be recycled.

They will pick up from houses, but not from condo or apartment buildings. And there aren't even places around to take recycling even if you wanted to go to all that trouble. Ridiculous.

That is ridiculous! It's not that hard to give everyone a blue bin and collect it once a week. People were even willing to help set it up! I hope they get what's coming to them!

Well the way our building is, it would be hard for tons of us to put all of our blue boxes on the curb. So we thought of turning one of the laundry rooms into a recycling center, but they said they wouldn't come into the building to get trash. We're still trying to think of ways to do it but the city keeps shutting us down.

Thanks! Maybe one day we'll be able to join the rest of 2008 and recycle our crap

Wow. Here you can get fined if you don't recycle. I can't imagine no recycling. A lot of cafes have biodegradable plates, utensils and cups made of corn. There is often a compost bin for these things.

I got great eco-effort.

I love that cafes are starting to use biodegradable items. I only wish that bigger corporations like fast food giants would also make the switch. That would be incredible.
