Her eldest son Charles, 73, automatically becomes king of the United Kingdom and the head of state of 14 other realms including Australia, Canada and New Zealand.

That would be hilarious and I'm all for it, but let's be real here, she's probably been dead for like... 4 years already.

The most British thing ever is the 4 mile queue to view her lying in state.. The only comparable queue was the queue to join the Protest march against the war in Iraq. The queue was aslong as the march itself so people had th walk to the end of the march and queue up to get to the start of the march and then march back to where they started many hours before.

It seems like the British have a lot of free time

We don't need to pay for healthcare.

Because you like waiting in long lines (queues).

That's not true, people in the UK are more likely to get a same day or next day appointment, not by a whole lot, but it's slightly better service at about half the price. Plus there a better distribution of services which results in more effective triage so the people waiting are the people who need to wait.

Meanwhile we're about to get smacked with one of the biggest doctor shortages of all times because your generation of assholes refused to pay your bills and decided to remove a lot of avenues for post graduate medical training, and the private sector didn't pick up the slack until over 10 years too late. So great job being generalized dirtbags. And cheap dirtbags at that.

Covid streamlines a lot of the healthcare process. a lot of the initial contact is by virtual investigation. Like an online paramedic. It cuts down a lot of time wasting by timewasters. I can get an X-Ray without even waiting to see my GP. Specialist intervention can begin before my doctor is even aware of the diagnosis. Meanwhile everyone is waiting to cut their slice of the pie in the good ol' boys clinic of Jesus.
