Someone at the bar is playing covers on an acoustic guitar with a loop. I’d enjoy it more if I didn’t know him from high school.

Wes Montgomery Live at the Half Note.

Queuing up Sarah Vaughn in HiFi.

The Wes Montgomery is a reissue. The Sarah Vaughn is an original but just a compilation album.

I was just researching it and it’s a good compilation album to have. It’s basically her original release with a few additional songs.

The Goldberg Variations by Bach.

It’s almost maddening and I can’t say it’s my favorite thing but it’s kind of like a therapy. But it does get my anxiety up a little bit. But then the quiet afterwards sounds nice as well.

It’s 4 sides worth of harpsichord.

Random combinations of records. Trying to play records and avoid my iTunes shuffle god mode.

Bernstein conducting Beethoven’s 9th with the NY Philharmonic.

Read his Wikipedia page instead of the liner notes.

Side 3 is apparently the overture. Side 4 is a separate arrangement.

I found no review of it anywhere. Not Amazon. Not Discogs. Not anywhere.

It’s okay though. I enjoyed the overture.

Second side of Aqualung.

Just played my SoundCloud noise at the open mic across the street.

I’m going to try and choose my favorite Brandenburg Concerto and scrub my bathtub…

I think at a distance while I cleaned my kitchen, the second concerto was my favorite. But I like all of them. The recording is not perfect. It’s early sixties. But it’s played very well. I think it might be a mono recording.

SoundCloud I guess. I do follow a few record labels. A lot of hour long DJ sets though.

New album from my brother who signed me up for a record club.

This was the first one.

I think I only get one more. But I already listened to them. I’m shuffling my whole library by album since last night.

Silver Jews at the moment. Tortured guy it sounds like. I read his obituary by a music magazine online. Sad stuff.

Tennessee EP at the moment.

I’m listening to skyfish’s favorite Animal Collective album.

Still shuffling albums.

I like my stereo.

Billy Bragg is shouting at me at the moment.

I’ve determined for the short drives around town I’m going to either have CDs playing in my car or possibly the short and fast punk song playlist I have.

Otherwise I’ll keep my current playlist just for longer drives.

Right now I’m shuffling my entire library on my laptop. By song. It’s been pretty okay so far.

I sang karaoke on Wednesday. Forgot the third verse which is the same as the first. And someone yelled at me from the bar. And I said “third verse same as the first” which Gordon Gano said during a different song. It was a Violent Femmes song. But not the one that Gordon Gano says it in.

Then I sang this song except I only know a few lines out of the middle verses. But I know the important ones. And the first and last verses.

St. Vincent can really rock sometimes.

Also I think the volume on my stereo receiver is on a different type of scale than the volume on my laptop. The volume on my laptop is a fine tuning adjust. The volume on my receiver is the official volume meter. It’s the range in which the laptop is able to adjust. But I think it’s a difference in volume of sound thing too. How many ways can loudness be increased? Through what capacities?

This was the last one. I’m really happy about it. It’s perfect though. So it’s also sad. But it seems true.

I got the first record around the same time that I heard about my cousin passing. Songs Ohia was led by an alcoholic lead singer. I first heard him on the radio because he had passed away from alcoholism.

And this is a live album of him. He’s fully reincarnated in this album.

Not my cousin. My cousin is not reincarnated. But there is a way to live as the images of those we’ve left behind. In their passing they take something but it is returned.

So.

It just seems like something that I might have actual reason to cherish.
