 Another release after Brad's death.
Acoustic is designed to look like a bootleg and really does stay true to providing us with an unpolished, often live example of Sublime unplugged. The problem is they didn't always select the best cuts.
Some of the songs were taken from the Firecracker Lounge gig Brad did alone in early '95 (fully available on a bootleg). These are probably the best takes, as a drunk Brad plays songs he loves to a drunk audience.
There are other worthwhile songs here but all-in-all, it's nothing special. |

The trouble is that a while back, here, everyone played Sublime day in day out, at parties, in the car, at home, etc. So I kinda got bored to death of their stuff. But nonetheless, this does sound more honest and simply spur of the moment than on album, and Sublime does come off pretty good and sloppy live. So, yeah, I like it, but I won't listen to it much anymore... It's not all that well recorded though. |

Nah, it's not. The Firecracker Lounge tracks are just Bradley and his acoustic but some of the other tracks have Eric Wilson playing some interesting intstrumens. IMO, the live material here is a lot better than that from the godawful Stand By Your Van |

It's more honest and purely songwriter and his guitar stuff, I admit. But there's some good band parts on Stand By Your Van. As I said, I'm truly bored to death of Sublime, it's a shame because they're pretty good in the end. Maybe a few years from now I'll be able to get back into it. |
