no, because Nowell was much more talented.

Brad's death wasn't as dramatic as Kurt's.
Sublime didn't really impact other musicians very directly whereas Nirvana arguably defined a decade of rock (where was the reggae revival after Sublime broke up?).
Brad also didn't make himself the center of attention, he didn't mold the band to fit him. He let them play and he played within them.

That being said, I love Sublime and Brad and would listen to them over Nirvana any day.

No, because the world already has enough glorified drug addicts who died from their own stupidity to grieve over.

Sorry, but you make less than half a dozen albums, sit in relative obscurity, and then you die - suddenly you're God? No, no, no.

The vast majority of young dead rock stars would have been quickly forgotten if they hadn't died. Nobody really cares about Pearl Jam anymore, but if Eddie Veddar had shot himself about 10 years ago, everyone would love him.

If Vedder had shot himself 10 years ago I'd have no male sexual fantasies involving his voice, which I am thankful for.

No, because they didnt get go mainstream until after he died. They did have 2 cult hits w/ smoke 2 points, and daterape previous to that, but didnt hit big until there self titled album.

'Sublime' is more of an icon than Bradley Nowell is.
Kurt Cobain is probably the same amount of an icon as 'Nirvana' is

How that happened, I don't know. But that's the way it is. And 'Sublime' will never be as much of an icon as either 'Nirvana' or Kurt himself. Who knows exactly why?

I don't really see Sublime and Brad's popularity rising from this point on. But, I don't see it falling either.

Unless Puffy releases some hot new remixes.
