Video game CEO John Gibson stepped down from the helm of Tripwire Interactive after his support of the Texas abortion law created a firestorm.

Tripwire, which publishes games including "Chivalry 2," said in a statement Monday that Gibson has stepped down and that his views don't reflect those of the company.
"His comments disregarded the values of our whole team, our partners and much of our broader community," the company said. "Our leadership team at Tripwire are deeply sorry and are unified in our commitment to take swift action and to foster a more positive environment."

Quit trying to be provocative, dipsh*t. You don’t have the chops.

Being pro life is a widely held political belief that shouldn’t cause someone to be economically punished. That’s not provocative. That’s true.

That’s economic violence by a political system and I don’t believe in it.

Thanks for the schoolyard insult though. I’m sure that makes you feel like you’re better than me.

You f*cking people believe in a free market and capitalism until it backfires. You don’t just get to say whatever you want without accepting that there are consequences to what we say? You got butt hurt over my “schoolyard insult”. This is a LOT bigger for people who gave to live under this law. Are you f*cking deficient??

What exactly is he being held accountable for? Expressing an opinion that is different than someone else's?

Can you just say whatever you want to at work?

Are you really going to try to frame this as a workplace thing?

It didn't sound like the guy was at work when he made his comment. The article even mentioned that it was a Saturday...

...but I guess this means that 'Cancel Culture' is a real thing, right?

No it means your employer is going to hold you accountable for any action that might impact his business and the higher up the business you are the more impact that is going to have. Sorry Jefferey Espstein you can't have sex with underage girls with no consequence to your career, just because it happens outside office hours. If you want to squeal about "cancel culture" as a buzz word, squeal away little piggy but you are still going to get pulled by the ears.

The negative effect of a guy's comment on his business IS the cancel culture in action.

Oh shut up, assh*le. The Republicans have tried to cancel anything that isn’t white, hetero, cisgender, Christian for f*cking ever. Those were just who people are, not their actions.

Do you respect our legal process that passed this law for the constituents who voted for the representatives that passed it?

Like I understand Roe v Wade to be a result of a cultural shift that I disagree with and attempt to challenge that cultural shift. How I see it it would be very unlikely that Roe v Wade will be overturned and it will remain a state by state issue as it is now with differing degrees of liberality. My state will continue to have pro choice legislation in place. I can’t change that but I don’t support it. I don’t see the need to demonize politics the way you seem to. People will migrate if they don’t agree.

And I actually agree with the free market being economically violent sometimes but I think that’s the nature of all forms of economies. I’d rather that than leaders casting outsiders out of the temple. I lean towards an economic violence of an inanimate system that you can react to learn from and overcome rather than being struck down in the almighty public opinion circus.

Nope. Not when it diminishes people’s personal freedoms. Do you respect the elected officials in Texas who were voted in by their constituents 60 years ago who tried to prevent integration in public schools?

from what i understand, that was his own personal twitter account. personally i am pro-life, but i am also against government trying to insert themselves wherever they please. they already have quite a bit of control as it is.

That issue resolved itself by the process of our legal system.

And if you think progressive legislation actually undoes universal societal ills I’m afraid you’re very wrong.

You realize that we still have predominantly black and white communities and schools in this country, right?
