You can't really have it both ways- - if it wasn't such a serious/dangerous lie then, why is it now?

I would argue that most politicians care more about keeping themselves in power than about the poor. How many policy proposals are designed to help people out of poverty rather than just helping them survive while staying at the bottom of the economic ladder?

Because it wasn’t the president of the United States promoting it.

I asked about Trump. Not about anyone else.

I asked about Hillary Clinton because there are multiple instances of her claiming the election was stolen from her, with no evidence presented. Nobody on the left criticized her for saying these things.

Trump is an actual Christian. He is a Protestant Christian. He occasionally goes to church. Though, I don’t think he knows that much about the Bible. He was once asked what his favorite Bible quote was. And he responded “That’s personal”. That sounds like the answer of a guy that couldn’t give you a Bible quote to save his life.

Yes, I think he does care about the poor. There are examples of him helping out people in the lower classes in both his private life and his public life.

Perhaps you should open your eyes then. Trump isn't even in power anymore.

Many of his political policies are designed to help everybody. When the economy does well, everybody on every level does well.

She wasn’t the president at the time. Much less influence. Still, Trump didn’t shut up about her for four years, deflecting regularly.

You guys really have no standing. That guy is a morally bankrupt subhuman. You’re lying to yourselves if you say otherwise.

I'm not claiming him to be some model of morality, but I think you are being partisan by singling him out as being anything different or unique in the world of politics.

"World of Politics"? Pol Pot Stalin Hitler Castro Hussein Gadhafi...

World of Democracies, yeah he's pretty unique.

His prolonged hissy fit at losing the election and the resultant embarrassment at the Capitol building that directly led to actual deaths was a stand alone moment in American history. At least Nixon had the good grace to walk.

a lot of politicians claim to be Christian just to get votes. don't really see many politicians backing up their claims.

A lot of republicans claim to be Christians to get votes. No idea at all why a Democratic candidate would attempt that.

Most wouldn't. Many Dems are anti-religious bigots.

It’s more an effect of people not wanting other people’s religious beliefs to impact personal choice.

Framing those beliefs as religious is how the bigots justify it.

Many of those beliefs *are* based on their religions.

For example?

'Personal choice' sounds like you might be talking about abortion rights. Being against Abortion is not necessarily a religious stance.

It is legal in all 50 states now, isn't it? The SC struck down bans as unconstitutional.

...and I believe that some religions allow gay marriage.
