Chauvin, who was seen in disturbing videos kneeling on Floyd's neck, is charged with second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. He has pleaded not guilty. Three other officers involved in the fatal arrest are charged with aiding and abetting, and will be tried jointly in August.

What are the typical punishments for those charges. The conclusion of this trial won't please either side and the carousel of bullsh*t will keep spinning.

Use-of-force expert for defense says Derek Chauvin was justified in kneeling on George Floyd
"I felt that Derek Chauvin was justified and was acting with objective reasonableness, following Minneapolis Police Department policy and current standards of law enforcement in his interactions with Mr. Floyd," said Barry Brodd, a former police officer.

They showed another camera angle and claimed Chauvin's knee was not on Floyd's neck, but on his shoulder blade.

What "they claim" is not supported by any footage filmed at the scene. There are countless videos showing what happened.

The cop is refusing to testify now.

Yeah, it looks pretty clear from that video that his knee was on his neck.

The other argument is that the knee on the neck is not what caused his death, but it was all the drugs in his system that did him in. He was saying he couldn’t breath before he was on the ground.

Why do always have to stick up for the system in every situation?

"The other argument" is what you are oh so unsubtly pushing.

The will always be "the other argument" because there will always be lawyers. Fact is he was pinned on the ground with a cop kneeling on his nick for around 7 minutes. Onlookers were telling the cop he was dying and telling the cop he was now dead. Even if there is an outside chance "it was the drugs in his system" the cop still had him pinned down and ignored he pleas to be allowed to breathe. The onlookers said the same thing. All the lawyers are looking for at this point is to throw up a bullsh*t reasonable doubt issue. Like always.

If that only was in line with anything the medical examiner who examined Floyd’s dead body found.
Or in line with the effect any of the drugs named in the Floyd context has on people who use them.

Defense attorney has called for a mistrial based on Maxine Waters call for violence if Chauvin is acquitted.

The Judge didn't grant a mistrial, but acknowledged that Waters' comments could be grounds for an appeal.

even if he is found guilty and there are arguments over the minutiae of the sentencing, there's no doubt in my mind some people will use that as an excuse for violence and rioting.

Did you support any move to censure Donald Trump for actually inciting violence?

I would if he actually did incite violence

guilty on all three charges. 75 years and $20k assuming they pursue the maximum. my instinct tells me they won't but you never know.

So...you actually support MTG or just these statements. Also, if Trump, with his words, didn’t incite violence, how did Waters? Did she say to be violent? Because I don’t see where she said, “go be violent”.

She didn't say to 'be peaceful'...

The real point with Waters is that she called for action based on if the jury agreed with her opinion on the case or not, as if the rule of law didn't matter. If people aren't going to accept the verdict of the jury, why even bother having the court system?

Waters: "Well, we’ve got to stay on the street. And we’ve got to get more active. We’ve got to get more confrontational. We’ve got to make sure that they know that we mean business."

Does she mean confrontational as in debating people on the streets?

We either take words at face value or we don’t. She didn’t say be peaceful, she didn’t say get violent. Confrontation does not, by definition, connote violence. You guys can’t have it both ways.
